How will you mount the retro fightstick PCB in the SE case?
tIām working on this finally. My question is: how am I supposed to solder to the power of the controller pcb? Thereās already one soldered there for the ps to power it, am I supposed to solder another wire onto it and then solder the free end to the other pcb the same way?
I canāt see a clear picture of how others did it
What PCBs are you using?
ps1 dual shock version H late and mad catz late version xbox360 controller
Another question, what does it mean when the diagram says to set triggers to neutral?
Wonāt those controllers will and up with two separate power sources since youāll have to have separate cords from the Playstation connector and the 360 USB?
For the controller I used to set the triggers to neutral involved soldering a 1k resistor and a diode between ground and signal, you can see it on the pics I posted a while ago as well as here, where I saw to do it. http://forums.shoryuken.com/showpost.php?p=6073334&postcount=2129
Do you need to set the triggers to neutral if you arenāt planning to use the triggers?
I donāt imagine you would.
Dual pcb namco stick
Hi,
Iām trying to dual pcb my namco stick to work on playstation and xbox 360 (both wired connections), I was wondering what small common ground pcbs are available, and would have good compatability with psx to usb convertors?
thanks
The original digital PSX pads can be cut down really small with a dremel if youāre comfortable soldering to surface mount legs. The HRAP pcb is the smalled PSX pcb I can think of right now that wouldnāt require cutting.
As for 360, youāre kind of fucked. The pcb from inside one of the new MadCatz SE or TE fightstick would be the best overall for this sort of mod, fairly small. The new MadCatz fightpad looks like it can be cut down small and looks common ground.
Hmm, then I think ill make a seperate box for the xbox pcb and use d-sub connectors to connect to the buttons (from the terminal block), and also ground and +5v from the psx pcb too. Will it work just having the ground and +5v not connected if im just using psx pcb?
To me it seems like the way you said, but every diagram I see includes this particular part. I believe it has to do with the common ground. Picture from the x360 and ps dual mod thread:
Ok last question. On the SE/TE, the terminal connection strip where all the buttons leads connect to, which row is the gnd and which row is the hot? If youāve got a picture showing which is which that would be really helpful
The row closest to the ribbon cable connections are the signals. The row farthest from the ribbon cable connections are the joined common ground.
lol, well I wired all those backwards Thanks
Ok does this make sense. I should only need to solder 1 gnd connection off that terminal strip to act as the ground to the cthulhu board for the buttons then since they are all connected via the pcb as a common ground.
Would that also work the same for the JLF? Since the gnds are all tied together via the pcb right?
is there anyway to connect to the default hori buttons in the t5 stick other than soldering? I canātt use diconnects because there are basically two tiny wires coming off theground and switch. pictures below:
Woot got it working
Just need to cut the box so the switch can be properly mounted and its done
No pics because the cabling looks like crap.
Noob questionā¦for those of you that added a CTHULHU to your XBOX360 TEās ā¦can you make your XBOX button function as your HOME button? Does the turbo function work for both systems?
Thanks!
This is either incredibly brilliant or incredibly stupid. So I have a non-common ground wireless 360 pcb which is hacked and works fine but you cant dualmod it. and I have a sixaxis pcb. Then I got to thinking ā they work individually but not together so why not just swap the connections at the point of the buttons?
I would need a way to switch the connections for ALL the buttons and directions on the joystick from ābuttons -> 360ā to ābuttons -> ps3ā
I have one of these: http://sewelldirect.com/parallel-db-25-manual-switch-2.asp
Can I just buy three of these: http://www.allelectronics.com/make-a-store/item/DB-25P/D-SUB-CONNECTOR-25-PIN-MALE/-/1.html
Get my drift? Iād solder all the buttons and joystick directions to a 25-pin, plug it into the ouput of the switch, and solder the pcbs to āAā and āBā 25-pin plugs respectively.
In addition, it is scalable, because I can assumably hack any other pad in the future and itās literally plug and play. Iām a newbie at this. Feedback is humbly appreciated.
Turbo function will not work with the cthulhu boardā¦unless theres a way that i dont know of. However the Xbox guide button will work as your home button for ps3.
