There are other sources of news besides TV. Aside from local news programs on network TV, I get all of my news from newspapers. That will probably make you less jaded towards media.
Either way, the country is black vs. white. It has been since its inception. They aren’t making shit up, they’re just reporting how it really is out there. Maybe it’s good for you (It’s practically great for me but I do get into occasional racist situations with dumb white people) but it isn’t for everyone out there.

Yeah, this was…pretty inevitable. Or, at least, someone attempting it was pretty inevitable.
I mean, hell, it’s not like it was that long ago when some cops got killed by a hatchet attack in NYC, even if that was because of that organization with an Egyptian goddess’s name rather than the always existent anger with regards to the “race” divide boiling over. (Yes, “SEKHMET”. That Egyptian goddess.) That’s why I’m rolling my eyes at hearing some people acting like its the protesters fault that the police aren’t wearing more protective armor even though a) it’s possible to not look militarized with more protective armor on and b) even the most protective armor doesn’t make you magically death-proof anyway.
Really, even before the whole horrible “‘race’ relations” element comes in, given the basically non-existent mental health system in this country and given how easy it is to get a gun illegally or legally, again, this was pretty much guaranteed to happen unfortunately. This especially since this guy supposedly just killed someone else just yesterday in Baltimore, meaning at the very least if he probably going to go out guns blazing anyway when the police came from him for that. That capacity seems…rather independent of the more bloodthirsty segments of the protesting group calling for violence.
It’s also inevitable, both in here and in the media, how people are already trying to spin their own narratives on this even though two people just died who probably had nothing to with police corruption; at the very least, the (alleged) shooter didn’t know (or care) if were actually corrupt. (This is the part where I guess I’m supposed to say “I don’t advocate violence as a solution to corruption”, but instead I’ll just say I’m not going to mourn those people if they do get killed.)
I could easily understand people trying to justify the shooting if it was the cop(s) who killed Eric Garner that got shot & killed or any other well-known-to-be corrupt cop who suffered such a fate, but, as far as we know, it wasn’t. Besides, even if some people feel like killing the cops is the only “real” solution and then are insane/suicidal enough to act it out, that’s hardly going to make them crackdown less. The shooter is an especially selfish asshole in this instance as well.
As such, for anyone who is either a minority or someone already tended to be harassed by the police in New York City right now, you’ve my sympathies. Stay safe past New’s Years since there’s doubtless going to be another “justified” police shooting within a month’s time or so in that area given the way people can’t control their anger. Yes, even you, Raz0r.

thankfully the gunmen is down. I’m sure NYPD would have no qualms about taking a page from the LAPD playbook when they were dealing with that rogue police officer ie. shooting anything that remotely resembles the suspect or suspects vehicle until you’re out of bullets.

finally got around to reading this article. To be honest, who didn’t see this coming? Not saying it’s right by a longshot, but if every time the cops kill somebody, a cop dies, eventually the cops will hopefully learn to be a little more caring, lest they reap what they have sowed all these years.
To every news article calling the people who called for dead cops scum, go fuck yourself. Those protesters are guilty of nothing, and had every right to say what they did.
