lol 20-30 miles? china is vaguely concerned with north koreans immigrating, but their biggest issue is that they REALLY don’t want to share a (land) border with a US ally. which is where the paradox of north korea comes in, since every time north korea does some wild shit the south koreans beg for an extension of and growth in the US military presence on the peninsula.
just as an example, the US was supposed to withdraw all their forces south of seoul by 2014/15…until the cheonan got sunk and SK immediately was like “please give us more troops and stay until 2018!” and now SK is trying to get longer range missiles, a nuclear installation, etc… pretty much all shit diametrically opposed to what china wants.
i wouldn’t be surprised at all to wake up one morning to find out that kim jong un was assassinated…but i’d be even less surprised to find out that china was the one that took him out.
