yeah it is strange to me how terrified the chinese government is of it’s own people. well i don’t judge, the chinese are chinese.
Well not just terrified of dissenting opinions, but a severe apathy toward quality of life in general and whether people live or die in the country. That kind of position does have a trickle down to your constituents.

you do realize until 25 or so years ago, north korea was significantly better economically and militarily than the south. and before that, the south was basically being propped up by america. the only reason north and south korea even exist is because of america, otherwise all of korea would be north.
the US generally defers to the south on how to deal with the north, and south koreans are generally emotionally bitches when it comes to the north. lee myungbak (pres of s. korea) is generally disliked in large part because he doesn’t suck the north off every time they make a demand like his last 2 predecessors.
all that said, north korea can’t really do shit, but it’s not worth it to invade them for most of the same reasons why the korean war ended in a stalemate 60 years ago. they have nukes that they can’t deliver, but they still have a solid, loyal as fuck army and the strongest ally a country can have besides america on their side.
Yeah, the very reason I like LMB is the reason the lot of Koreans think he’s a little bitch. Which is ironic.
But honestly, as much I think it’s BS that we were so quick to invade Iraq over an imminent threat to American life and human rights, but won’t do the same to North Korea, when both posed about the same threat to us, and North Korea has a worse human rights record, I think it’s for the best. We never invaded the Soviets, and the system fell on its own. The same’s going to most likely happen here. Same system, same demise.
What does scare me is that, despite the inevitability of the government’s collapse, when we get to see exactly how bad things are there, we’re going to look as much as monsters as their government for allowing it to happen. Every person who authorized the war on Iraq who didn’t press for moving on North Korea should be forced to commit seppuku.

Even initial reports in the changeover says Xi Jinping doesn’t intend to do anything different regarding North Korea than Hu Jintao did, which is…talk a lot and not do jack shit, but placate us by saying “mean things about them in public” (gotta love Stone/Parker, they are so spot on about how retarded international politics are), while going around, giving them concessions and handjobbing their ego, while continuing to screw over the refugees leaving that brilliant country.
I’ve talked with some Chinese nationals about what they thought about their country repatriating N. Koreans, and they are just as confused by that, that they clearly aren’t, if you give a second thought to it, illegal migrant workers, that they are political refugees, and that the only reason China gets away with it is that the bounty they give citizens for reporting them, as well as their scare tactics involving Korean-Chinese living in Jilin.
The U.S. government (re: not “us”) invaded Iraq so that certain powerful people on Wall Street (again, not “us”) might control the oil futures market/racket through the non-use of Iraq’s oil supply.

It’s hard to tell. They certainly are cracking down on.North Korean financial institutions in the country, but the sanctions the rest.of the council wanted to impose were ultimately toned down by China, which often nets NK a slap on the wrist.
The key is now in what results from this human rights inquiry that got pushed through. China cant save them from this, and shuffling their feet will announce guilt, and following through with access will too.
Which i think is why Kju has been barking so much lately. He sees a threat and thinks he can be belligerent like daddy and get everyone off his back.

I laughed, lauged real hard and though of all the ways these people would be stomped. And then thought, fuck, these people are romanticized by the idea of war with the south, that they would be stupid enough to detonate nukes. Shit stopped being funny after that.
Shouldn’t they save those missile and ammunition for the real war with South Korea and the US. North Korea have the weapon and guns to go to war but they can’t outlast South Korea with U.S. assistance. Many expert think that when shit hit the fan between North and South Korea, China will try to talk some sense into North Korea but won’t get involve with the battle.

But you’re leaving out the fact that China, despite their sanctions NOW, are still a wildcard. Any act of unretaliatory aggression from the South to the North, or America to the North, would probably push them to land on the side of North Korea in war.
N.Korea also seems to be apt enough as their SKorean counterparts to make animation in a yeah propaganda cartoon. Not that movie on Netflix I missed out on and now its gone but something recent some Internet jerks found.
In that cartoon NKorea soldiers = Squirrels and other animals that work together against the big bad wolves which = America. Forgot who they equated to the Japanese. Ferrets or something.
