Eventually the new players will beat the old players because the old players will have bad reaction times, etc. just like in real fighting…
EDIT: Serpent, wasn’t I a big troll way back when. Bigger than now. Everyone had flame wars and shit.
Everyone remember SAVALAS or Johnny Justice get into it with Original Don. Everyone remember SNAAAAKE get into it with YYY, Jason Blackman, and some other cats during the CVS2 on XBL days?
I’ve been here since 2000 and i recall the most hilarious stuff in this site. Some moments i remember:
Serpent invading the cosplay thread so bad that Rock Chick and some other guy started making threads to get him banned
Rsigely pulling off a prank on a poster by almost getting the poster arrested (i think it was Irrenicus)
Cisco’s stalker threads
Bloofy posting his Tidus hairdue and having Cybersex with one of the posters here
Magnetix showing his cock in class; and the Puce.com invasion that had one of Puce’s friends tried to retaliate to the site by posting fake bikini pics of herself.
Rsigley, Cisco, Colguile, Serpent and Bloofy are the top 5 trolls of SRK’s past (or the names i immediately remember when trolls are mentioned).
Arthritis is the only thing that will hinder performance when people get older if they arent on medicine for it and stuff. There was that story of the best Alpha 2 or 3 player at some Japanese arcade being an 80 year old woman. So, unlike Starcraft as we age our fingers only lose speed for fast typing skills to go away, thats not so bad for fighting game players.
Yes.
Though it wasn’t done as a prank. It was legit bullshit. Nigga stalked me via MySpace and figured out what school I went to, called the local cops and some fucking how found my cell number and posted that shit up publicly on IRC.
Haha damn. Fucking Sigley didn’t play. I met the guy a few times at Eight on the Break. He seemed very introverted. That mofo didn’t play on the internet.
Never talked to Serpent too much but did enjoy his posts
Rsigley making thread after thread to troll…he made it an art
Cisco started off as a bible thumper then randomly made a thread one day asking how to become involved in an orgy…all downhill from there.
Bloody Youkai and I joined the same month, then Red Queen joined a month later. Fun fact: SHE/HE/IT made me my first avatar ever on SRK
Magnetix always had the weirdest fucking stories. The weirdest I read of his was him banging a girl from behind while his friend had his cock in her mouth. The girl’s mom came home and Magnetix and his friend hauled ass before the mom got up to the room, leaving the girl on the bed covered in juices lol…
I remember CrouchingTiger and I played Tiburtron and Magnetix in a game of SC and got worked after talking shit. Staying up until 4am in the late night thread with Starhammer and few other regulars for YEARS back in the day. So weird to see people on a game forum stay on so long. This place really is a lot different from back in 2003, that was the most fun year for me on here. Mods didn’t just ban you back then, they roasted your ass in a long post and THEN banned you. Place was a lot of fun. It still is, I’m sure but the posting of threads has changed so much. Every other thread on the front page is “XXXX the thread”. No more random threads of all out bullshit and flaming…which has watered down the laughs to some extent. Ah well!
Cisco started off with a thread about jacking off to the hanson brothers because of thinking they were girls and then became a bible thumper… Rsigley made the most fucked up threads from cooking squirles to showing pics of grandma’s titties. Him and Cisco are the two posters who made the weirdest stories. Magnetix was awesome, i recall his first thread where he talked about showing his cock to his classmate or something and every post was “that’s gay…”. ROFL
I can’t believe there isn’t any mentioning of Jive Turkey Jones, Serpent, Million and Random Nigga.
–Holy Shit! I didn’t notice Serpents post. I hope we can get Rsigely, Bloody, and Magnetix posting here… the last thing i remember about Bloody is that he jumped to Gaia during the whole invasion war and fell in love with one of the chicks there. He was then flamed by Serpent… and speaking of the Gaia war, Gaia had warning threads against SA.M and Cisco.
My first great thread here in SRK was in the FGD and it was a freestyle that attacked the majority of the top players in MVC2. Next to @RDEROCKET, what the hell do you mean downhill? My threads after became the greatest threads that built the site what it is today and i caused blood baths in every religion thread i stepped in. Keep the thread up and testify on my greatness… During the times those names you all mentioned where active, there was one poster who was greater and that poster overshadowed their threads so hard that they had to post 3 threads at the same time because no one cared about them when my thread was on the same page. It is already the final days here in SRK, like i said months back, at October i will retire and hang up my boots from this site. So this week should be a week dedicated to me for all the things i have done.
my second account on srk. first one got banned for trolling fighters.net members or whatever that site was called.
i found srk cuz mahvel 2 just got released on dreamcast and i thought it was the best fuckin game ever. i was obsessed with that game and wanted to know everything about that game and hear discussions about it. some how, i stumbled into srk and it was a goldmine of mvc2 info. the rest was history.
went to b5 and played mahvel like crazy and did okay despite me having hardly any competition in my area (i was a pad player). playing marvel all day against people just as obsessed as i was with mvc2 was a dream come true. finally saw and talked to james chen in person after reading his xvsf faqs and his msh section on tips and tricks was amazing. i thought i would never meet anyone as obsessed with fighting games as i was.
of course i was a scrub back then like everyone else. i thought i was the shit for knowing how to do certain combos and beating the computer and my friends easily. srk taught me a lot. i’ve met a lot of cool people thru srk and a few shady ones but the good ones far outnumber the bad.
