Conveniently ignoring that time he waged a pre-emptive, non-defensive war with Mecca because he and Islam had been insulted by people that lived there. He had lived there for a time, and had taken to insulting the locals who had kindly allowed him to live there, making fun of their way of life and beliefs, and some townspeople got tired of that and criticized HIS beliefs in return, and as the recruiter said on Futurama, “War happened”. After conquering Mecca, Mo ordered his “assailants’” executions. Fast forward to modern times looks like these jerkwads’ behavior is consistent with ancient times.
If France is such a big supporter of Freedom of Speech, why is it illegal to deny the Holocaust over there?
Maybe those terrorists realized when a country singles you out while protecting everyone else, there is only one way to actually get any redress. You have to take it yourself, with violence.
That’s the way of the world. Either you get fucked or you do the fucking. If the Muslims are strong enough to take over they can then change the laws and program the sheep anyway they want. Say one thing and do the other, then claim moral superiority. The Caucasian way. The tyrant’s way. The way of the elite. The way of all of human history.
And probably the people have always been stupid and gone along with it, while patting themselves on the back for being smarter than everyone else.
Power, that’s all there is. No morality, no logic, nothing else. Win and you can say whatever you want. Lose and you get shit on.
Europe needs to grow some balls. If someone comes over to your house, insults the way you keep it, complains about the experience, they get thrown out, they deal with it, or they can leave of their own free will. The folks that move to England or France and want to make it more like wherever they came from need to be told to pipe down or GTFO rather than being kowtowed to.
NO-GO ZONES??? Again, Europe needing to grow a pair and do the job of defending the folks who actually WANT to be there rather than giving away their countries one acre at a time.
I’m NOT against Islam (at least not any more than I am against any other religion) or the Muslims who live peacefully and integrate well. Not even saying they need to actively denounce the militants. But these ultra-PC Eiropean countries invite attacks like this when they placate the militant immigrants rather than cracking down.
Catholics are christian dude… and catholics are actually fanatics with biblical literalism. Protestants are too but Catholics just have better “scriptural understanding” than Protestants from what i think.
Anyway, what i don’t like is seeing atheists finger point christianity, islam, or judaism for the murders they’ve done. The only reason why i sort of generalized islam in my first post was for the sake of igniting a good revolution from that group, however i think some of the atheists here that go “religion is evil” are ignorantly hypocritical because since when was Atheism clean of any blood? What is funny about reading these comments is that the same people who generalize religion are the same people who argued with me about how the crime rates that go on in the top 5 dangerous areas in the USA should not be blamed on black people. Sure there are plenty of good black people but the reality is that the majority of dangerous areas are populated by them… but we shouldn’t just say anything almost “generalizing” anyway, right? I can probally place a bet that the majority of thugs in camden don’t believe or give a shit about a god existing, which obviously ex’s them off as a theist and due to having no belief or uncertainty/uninterest then they are rightfully placed as atheists or at best deistic ort agnostics… but no one cares to put their beliefs as part of the group and it’s just “religious” nuts that are rightfully to be examples for generalization… eh?
it’s pretty silly to be asking moderate Muslims to somehow police these people. consider that in America our political class kills people with drones (many of them civilians), supports a lunatic state in Israel (making us indirectly responsible for the deaths of thousands of Palestinian civilians), has routinely invaded weaker countries leading to massive civilian deaths and displacement, and have supported brutal regimes throughout the world since WW2. though many Americans don’t support these actions, most do nothing to stop them.
the penalty for speaking out against the American government and the penalty for speaking out against extremist Islam are two different planets. when the American population does nothing to stop the atrocities of our government, it should be obvious why most of moderate Islam are silent on their extremists.
This is all probably coming to an end in the next hours now, the two guys are in a shop that’s like 30mins from my city with a hostage and police all around them, shouldn’t be able to escape.
I don’t want to talk about Charlie Hebdo that I hated. In France we knew that someday someone would attack these people, it’s respectable that they fought till their death because they knew it too but when you hurt people you can’t control their (dumb) reactions. I don’t like how the other deaths are already forgotten, we saw a cop die in a video…
I know Muslim that missed their finals, won’t go to pray today because of what happened yesterday (aggressions on families, women, mosque…) and are now living in fear… Even non Muslim are afraid of the consequences, things are really bad here and some are talking about a possible civil war. But I don’t want to go in the freedom of speech debate, there will be enough once this is all over.
The French state is bipolar (go see @LatuffCartoons pictures on Twitter, I’m not going into details) and didn’t took the first attack in December seriously. All this could have been avoided. I hope no more people will get injured today, there’s already 2 deaths and 20 injuries in the last hour.
• The two suspects in the Charlie Hebdo attack spoke to officers by phone and said they wanted to die as martyrs, according to a French member of parliament for the district where a police operation is taking place. Yves Albarello, who is in the Dammartin-en-Goele area where officers are hunting for the suspects, was speaking on French channel iTele.
• Dammartin-en-Goele residents have been told to stay inside, and schools are on lockdown, the mayor’s media office told CNN on Friday.
• The principal of a local primary school told CNN that police operations in the town began just before 10 a.m. local time (4 a.m. ET). Parents who came to get their children have been told to stay inside. Shops in the town have been told to close, she said.
edit: fuck its 2 hostage situations, one in paris and one elsewhere, the guy with the machine gun who killed the female cop is suspect of doing one of them.
Nobody is clean thats the fucking point. If it was’nt for a deity people would still mass kill for the lulz. Oklahoma City? Dark Knight screening? School shootings? Humans will body people for the fuck of it. Always have & will no matter the reasons.
That’s a good example of double standard in theory.
But in practice you have 2 things affecting it:
European collective guilt. (Which is not going to go away because you still have violent anti-semites doing their thing every once in a while.)
People are willing to be more considerate towards peaceful sects compared to assholes. That’s human nature, give and take.
When you publish cartoons against Jews, they make a sour face and that’s it. They don’t go and kill or threaten or destroy property, unlike the “religion of peace”.
People see how they react and in turn tend to have more respect for them and are more willing to be considerate to them, but people don’t really want to respect bullies.
I’m glad serpent brought up the double standard on free speech. A lot of world leaders are cheerleading free speech yet non of them actually champion it.
Freedom of speech doesnt excuse people of the consequences though, like if you walk to the biggest baddest dude in a bar and send him a list of insults you wouldnt be surprised if he sends you to the hospital.
