it must also be an inconvienent coincidence that the areas with the laxest gun laws (where more people have guns) have a much lower crime rate than areas with tight gun laws…
Criminals will get guns either way, thats why they’re criminals (doesn’t help our government and police are giving gangs guns). If colorado had laxer gun laws then someone else in the audiance might have had one and shot the guy before he killed anyone. Heck if the shooter knew that he was going into an area where lots of people have guns and that he’d have a pretty good chance at dieing, he wouldn’t have even bothered to go over there and shoot anyone.
read the link i posted. this same event happened in a batman comic in 1986, and im sure can be said about plenty of other comics, movies, mangas, ect… but i think theyre running with that for now because of the obvious correlation with what happened in the comic and this happening at the new batman movie, and just being retards and not addressing bigger issues then the possible influence of comics and or movies to this violent act.
for the dude saying why would someone own an ak47. people just like guns man. my friend has one and others, and we like to go shooting sometimes just because its fun to practice and hit targets, and its kind of actually nice to know how to use different types of guns in case of a situation where you might need to arm yourself and defend yourself with some sort of effeciency. that might be a bit of a farfetched paranoid excuse, but it wont seem that way if a riot breaks out sometime in the future, people hit nutfactor times 10 and you gotta grab a rifle and be prepared to handle your shit.

if its not an ak47, with tear gas, hand guns, it would be with a couple simple shotguns or rifles from walmart, or some bomb he created from some black cookbook he downloaded off the internet, or some poisonous gas recipe he found on the internet. i mean, people really underestimate how easy it is to still harm and or kill people WITHOUT guns. he couldve simply made a cheap generic flamethrower and did the same thing.
fact of the matter is, dude was sick, and these things will keep happening every now and then, and unfortunately i assume they will only get bigger. murderers, crazies, serial killers, ect… were around when all they could use was a sword and poison arrows and basically not get caught for years or ever, and they will be around when they can buy guns at walmart. its just one of those unfortunate aspects of life. at the very least, good he is caught, but unfortunately the damage is done, and even putting a bullet in his eye wouldnt be but so satisfying. its just some whack ass shit man.
Obviously they’re investigating that, but I don’t expect they’ll find a motive that even halfway makes sense.
In the movies, there’s always an inciting event wherein the villain’s life of crime can be explained as the logical outcome of cause and effect. In real life, abnormal psychology rarely makes so much sense.
also, yeah like someone said. i doubt this dude went into a gun store monday, was like, lemme get a gas mask, some tear gas, an ak47, some handguns, all with an angry face, and the dude sold him to him like okay no prob. im sure it was attained over time, and through various means. for those unaware, go to a gun show once, youd be surprised the type of shit you can get there, and get service with a smile. plus, its just not illegal, and the police and government dont have enough men to waste time going to someones house everytime they buy an ak, or a gas mask off the internet (or out of town and brought with them to their new state theyre moving to), or a flare gun that they might use to launch some other type of round out of.

This situation has absolutely no relevance to firearm possession privileges, especially if you’re a civilian who gets illegal access to tear gas and assault rifles. Gas masks, not so much.
