Nah bro, I bought a romanian ak-47 legally, never fired for $370. It’s all about your location. 1000 rounds, 5 30 round clips and aftermarket furniture I was looking at $525. I’m sure this guy’s was a semi auto civilian model, and was probably a post ban so it couldn’t be turned to full auto and didn’t have a threaded barrel for a bayonet. Any semi auto could still be bump fired though, and if you have the templates to make the plates and the springs, with a little work SOME semi AK’s can be turned full auto. (Felony to own without dealer license) I had mine for home defense and shooting fun. Next time I get a home protection weapon it will be a Saiga 12. Literally an AK 12 gauge variant.
Anyway, I hate that these shootings happen. There would be less of this if good law abiding citizens were packing heat. If a few would be killers read about public shootings were the gunman was shot at and killed promptly be public retaliation that would be a great deterrent.
I’ve actually thought about this before, strangely enough. What if a gunman came into a theater while I was watching, how would I get out, etc etc. It’s pretty much a shooting gallery, except maybe jumping over the rail on the sides that a lot of stadium seating theaters have and taking the fall. He was probably watching the aisles and shooting people as they ran out to make sure he hit the maximum number of people.
So you either gotta make a move while he’s distracted on one side of the room, make a huge break for it while he’s reloading, or try to sneak out. If it was a packed theater it’d be a lot easier to escape with meat shields than it would if it were a matinee with only like 20 people at most in it. Of course, if someone’s gonna shoot somewhere up, they’re gonna go for max number of people, so you can just avoid this all together by not going to big crowded events like premiers and shit. No one shoots up the 2 dollar movie theater at 3 oclock in the afternoon with 4 people watching.
A couple of the players in my areas have been getting concealed weapons permits recently, I think I might be joining them after this. Way too much bad shit that could happen in life that can be prevented with a little protection.

you will have to be armed with much much more than an AK if thats the case. Conceptually, i understand the right to bear arms… practically(in the scenario you mention), it serves no purpose. When the .gov has access to tools you will NEVER be allowed to possess, the idea of fending off a …" government {that} is oppressing them and want to go kill shit" with some handguns a rifle and shotgun is just silly.
the idea of restricting access to guns has more to do with minimizing “gun culture” (and im not talking about a healthy reasonable respect for weapons style gun culture. Im talking the “guns make me powerful, now im safe and have agency in the world” gun culture.) THAT kind of gun culture can be very dangerous. I feel that lax access to guns normalizes and encourages the latter group. The fewer barriers to entry and the enshrined right to bear arms can lead to the false impression that its no big deal. that everyone should have access, and that its a requirement for proper defence. when its normalized to that point, people start using it as a first line of defence, and dont properly understand the risks of using the weapon in question.
If you pull a gun, you better damn well be willing to kill. and i really dont think that latter group is taking the responsibility to heart.

The world has witness a wacko who decided to kill everyone in a theater because his life is going to shit. We seen this stuff in the past and we will see it again in the future.
In this situation I always wonder if it the right situation to bum rush the shooter in a group to minimize the shooter chance of killing more people. Then there a chance of me being kill while others hold the shooter down. What the hell am I saying, I would panic too like the people in that theater.
