CNN (and most major news outlets) have been paring down their photojournalism departments more and more, because virtually everyone has a phone with a camera on it … and they’re content to run the first thing they get (for free) from someone at the scene vs photos from actual (paid) journalists who are there 10, 30, 60+ minutes later.
any real man with testicles wants all them cool goodies, everyone wants to blow shit up…this guy just directed it at common folk watchinga movie…or he is like some of the anime wierdos on here, that are so into it , its real and wanted to try and out do heath ledgers performance in the last flick…like i said if he directed it towards robbing local drugg dealers or some shit would have got some respect. now he just a wack job.
The truly scary thing about mass murder events like this is that they’re essentially random. Ramping up precautions in an attempt to predict and head off something inherently unpredictable doesn’t protect us from anything and only serves to punish regular people for crimes that they themselves didn’t commit. This is not an argument for or against gun control, so much as a statement that the issue doesn’t even apply in cases such as this.
In a population of this size, with people’s inclination toward random acts of violence measured in an inverse bell curve, the tiny fraction of humanity from the extreme end of that curve is going to appear occasionally. Mark David Chapman, Arthur Bremer, John Hinckley, Seung Hui Cho, Jared Loughner, Nathan Gale, etc. They are the price we pay for the fact that the vast majority of people in our civilization don’t do shit like this.
This is an election year. There is going to be a big rush in both government and corporate media to politicize this, for big players to use it as an excuse to advance their favorite ideas on gun laws. It’s crass and opportunistic. We don’t have to be a part of it.
R.I.P to the victims and now they are cancelling the Paris premier and NY theaters apparently will have increased security. As much as I am anti-gun I agree that there is no way to stop people from getting their hands on it.
What purpose do you have in owning an AK-47? Deer hunting? It might not be suspicious to you but as an outsider looking in, this has all the warning of possible foul play. And for it to be where it happened makes that even more ridiculous why its happened again.
For the flammable and explosive material, im sure he didnt walk to walmart to pick up these items. it has to be from distinct sources, this got to be looked at.
I’ve always said, you can’t base laws on what the worst of society will do. If that were true, everything would be illegal. I’m not a fan of guns. I won’t ever own a gun. I don’t ever want to be in the general vicinity of guns, but I also don’t like reactionary BS. We do need to have open discourse about guns and how easy it is to get them, but that should be a general discussion, not based on one bad incident.
lets be honest its Colorado and they have a huge or did meth problem…this kinda shit and meth aint common, local tweeker i sold a car that i already sold to 2 other tweekers, went crazy a few months back and he shoot 2 random women and cops on the free way for the fuck of it in Honolulu , pastures kid,
to have one, a cheap Czechoslovakian knock off like 700$. the right to bear arms is not in there for hunting, but if people feel there government is oppressing them and want to go kill shit thats why its in there,The right to bear arms never was about hunting
Edit > if thats his current mug shot smiling like that . He got the stereo typical im famous now psycho path smile…probably a sociopath as he knew what he was doing was lame and still did it
Sorry guys, but the guns didn’t kill these people. James Holmes did. Looking forward to a time where the civil liberties are finally slowly, steadily stripped from us entirely, I’d much rather have armaments than to have given them away in the futile hope of thwarting would-be criminals. Does prohibition or the war on drugs teach us nothing? Bad people will always do bad things, and bad things will be whatever is illegal, banned or censored.
uh, you need to shut the fuck up.
Need I say more though? At this point, im not even suprised that faggots like you only take one thing away from these events, and that thing being taking firearms away. Instead of thinking about the victims, all you care about is your liberal agenda by putting it before anything else.
any way, what surprises me the most is the reactions by normal people. As if this thing could have never happened before this incident. Have they never thought that being in a movie theater makes you a sitting duck. Have you seen how those things are built? No space to move or maneuver if this sort of things happens. People really like to over react to these sort of things, I mean, its somewhat understandable, but things get way out of hand sometimes.
regardless, its a shame people had to die over the selfishness of one individual. Luckily he didn’t know chemistry.
Nah, it’s like Chris Rock said… just gotta make each bullet cost $5000 that way you save that bullet for emergency situations.
yeah, where does he get all those wonderful toys?
I also want to speak against the thinly veiled sensationalism in reports from even the more reputable news sources. Most of the articles I’ve read so far delve into the subject matter of the Batman series: crazed lunatics, shootings, bombings, etc.
As far as I know, there is no available evidence to indicate that this particular movie had anything to do with the shooter’s motive. It seems that the premiere only provided the opportunity. There is absolutely no reason for the media to make this link or play up this angle, and all it will do is spur discussion about censorship. It serves nobody well except for “journalists” hungry for attention and ratings.
Don’t do that, please. If you think Schiff is wrong, explain WHY, don’t just make sweeping assertions about the motivations of the left-leaning.
Oh, you know the whole correlation = causation thing.
It’s fine to kill a Twilight fan, we all win when one of them dies. But to kill real geeks…dick move.
That’s asking a lot on these forums and you know it.
you said it right there, why wouldn’t a organization do things to further its own goals and generate more money? Ethics don’t exist in real life until you need them to justify ones own horrible behavior.
I said he. I kept it singular, and then expanded it to generalize those other individuals like Yoh! who behave similarly to Schiff. People who put their agenda ahead of the issue at hand, and then use the issue at hand to further and justify their goals, all the while losing sight of the issue at hand.
I know you lean to the left, but notice how I said " that faggots like you". Im pretty sure you aren’t on the same level as that idiot.
