And since it looks like you know what you are talking about, you should know that the general population of Japan has been disarmed since the late 1800 early 1900. That’s 100+ years of a population being told that they can’t carry weapons because some god said so they couldn’t in the late 1800’s. And it also helps that the Japanese got humbled and scared straight by two nuclear bombs.
Do you also want me to give you the statistics of central American countries which ban firearms yet have a huge problem with gun violence. Hmm, its funny how people who throw your statistics yet conveniently always forget about those countries. Countries like Mexico which suffers greatly from “gun” violence while having strict firearm rules. Or do you want me to give you statistics of say a country like Sweden which mandates firearm possession, yet has very low gun violence?
And in your Japanese studies, have you forgotten to study American culture, provided you are American right? And if you are not, then perhaps you should study American culture before making such a bold sarcastic claim like the one you did 3 sentences before you finished. Did you forget this country was founded on the principles of the average individual rising up and taking control away from an unjust king. Banning firearms, may or may not help, but it won’t do anything to address the 9000+ deaths, and only gives more power to the people you don’t want to give power. yeah canada is a great country for sure. if the USA keeps declining we’ll become the new mexico and canada will have to build giant walls to keep us out as well. i’d have moved there, but my home will forever be in the greater seattle area. basically, the only places in usa which don’t suck are major cities, mostly along the coasts. the bible belt and most of the midwest are just awful though.
you seem to have conveniently left out the part where countries where guns are legal have orders of magnitude lower gun deaths. on par with countries where weapons are illegal. FAIL.
the way I see it, the best places in the States are the ones with the most cultural diversity (Cali, NY, etc). When you start hitting places where it’s all white, and cousins/sisters/wives/parents are all the same shit, you know you’re in trouble.

On the topic at hand, I have zero issue with citizens owning weapons. In todays day and age, you can fucking MAKE a quality weapon.
People like Schiff need to be told that their degree(s), education, and professors are worthless. On average, I find a kid with a BS in engineering to be far more intelligent than someone with a PhD in a field such as religion.

Anyone supporting a ban on legal guns should first be forced to live in a place like Chicago or Brooklyn, NYC in the BedStuy area where we have the strictest gun laws in this country and little girls getting constantly shot by floods of bullets.
