The only thing you would waste training on now is practicing combos that go would trigger the new IPS (and nom loops and stuff like that).
Everything else will still carry over…
I’m not really sure why there seems to be some issue with my deciding to wait in the first place… But anywho, if the new IPS changes were the only thing worth considering in the patch, I don’t think the change list would be so incredibly exhaustive.
I havn’t even been keeping up with SG as much as I should have (nor have I read through all of the patch notes) and even I know of more changes worth noting than just the IPS changes >_>
There’s alot more that goes into training for some folks than just practicing combos, so while the IPS changes matter in that case, there are alot of other things being altered that all have the potential to change the way one would need to play. Not that the IPS changes alone wouldn’t keep me from bothering to play at the moment anyway. Re-training and fine tuning muscle memory can be a bitch (if you havn’t tried, try playing both Zero and Viper in Marvel and you’ll see what I mean), and since I know a significant patch is coming, it’s a more logical choice imo just not to bother at the moment.
By all means though, I think anyone who wants to go ahead and bother playing anyway should play. I don’t care nor am I going to try to stop you. But me, myself, and I simply choose not to.
I don’t care. I wouldn’t even be playing either except the patch feels really close, even if it isn’t, and that gets me excited so I can’t help but play. I took about a 3 week break when the patch was first announced myself, but now I’m getting hyped so it’s hard to resist playing here and there.
I’m just saying your reason is BS. Yes, there are tons of things to take note of beyond the IPS change. Like I said though, that does not change the fact that if you keep playing, (nearly) all your improvements WILL carry over into the next patch. And you can even change your playstyle now slightly if you want (for example hitting the enemy of an assist OTG right away instead of taking your time, or using revised combos that will work post-patch [I changed around my Double BnB so I dont have to get used to it later]).
There’s a few minor changes in hit properties but it’s not somehow gonna fail to transfer. Just because Double’s jHP has less hitstun doesn’t mean that my ability to hit people with it properly isn’t going to carry over into the patched game.
Filia has new airball shenanigans, but that doesn’t mean that I can’t improve on her neutral game and whatnot now. All that stuff will still apply post patch, there will just be another neat trick to utilize.
If you just claimed you wanted to wait for the patch because it seems exiting while the non-patched versions seems a little stale (in general or in comparison to other games you could be playing), I wouldn’t even be making this post. However, you’re trying to say it’s logical to abstain from playing because you wouldn’t be improving, and that’s pure BS.

Also, I don’t think logic works on a person-by-person basis. It is illogical to stop playing for the patch because the skills you’d acquire would still be useful post patch.

As soon as I found out the patch changes I started working on new stuff. The truth is that the game will move faster, but not fast enough to screw with people’s timings. So by practicing new stuff I won’t waste my time NOT practicing new stuff. Then when the patch comes out, I’m not spending hours figuring stuff out and I can spend more time kicking people’s faces in.

Well fortunately, whether or not you feel like it was an insult has no baring on whether or not it actually was. And yes, I agree I overreacted. But then again, telling someone what is and isn’t bullshit regarding THEIR OWN TIME, is also overreacting. Even if he didn’t intend for it to be insulting, that’s how it came off. A) told anybody else that what they were doing is BS
B) imposed on anyone else my own logic/thoughts/opinions about how waiting for the patch should be handled

On topic, if Double hits her level 3 vs an assist, it continues until the end and there’s no way to hit her out of it. Will this be addressed in the patch or was her level 3 meant to function like that vs assists? Also, sometimes a full screen Cerebella lvl 3 against Double/Parasoul has resulted in those characters dragging the screen instead of wall bouncing. Any information on that as well would be appreciated.
Yes, this will be addressed. Double loses all invincibility after morphing into Filia (the first aerial attack).
Does it? I know they don’t wall bounce if you move forward before they hit the wall, but I didn’t know they could just drag the screen if you stood still.

I think it’s similar to the Egret Charge problem with Parasoul. There have also been instances where Double assist has gone through Cerebella lvl 3 and dragged the screen behind her while Parasoul went flying against the other wall, but I think that’s just because current Hornet Bomber is rly good and breaking shit.
Wait, are you saying them not bouncing if you move forward is a glitch, or just those instances against Parasoul and Double? Because I will fucking flip out (in a good way) if her level three and Kanchou move don’t negate the wall bounce anymore. It can be hard to combo after those bounces the way I want to when I can’t walk forward until after the bounce.
Not wall bouncing if you move the camera is a bug in general…but fixing these instances would mean changing how fast the moves knock you backward, which will change other combos…
