I’ve been throwing around the idea of converting my apartment into a training grounds for small-ish gatherings/tournies.
I have TVC and I’m seeing if there is any interest from people wanting a place to play and learn it.
I have the other standard games as well of course. CvS2, 3s, MvC2, ST, HDR, etc.
Once SF4 comes out we will obviously be focusing to that as the main game of the house but whatever else can still be played on the other setups of course.
I have 3 rooms to set up games in so there should be no problem finding something to play.
Again, we can set up tournies for one or all of the games going down or just beast.
I have nice tvs already here.
62" samsung DLP w/ sound system in the living room.
34" sony wega in the bedroom w/ 2nd xbox.
random other tvs for the other room.
I have 2 xbox 360s
PS2
DC
Wii w/ TVC and 2 adapters.
I have at least 6 useable sticks of my own so we’d only need a few more depending on turnouts.
I’ve already mentioned this to a small handful of people and have had a few over already. I know a lot of the top socal guys so I’m hoping it would be a gathering of the best. I’d say maybe 10-15 people could all fit, spread out in the rooms.
Frequency and size of gatherings will depend on interest.
People come by all the time to play so that in itself is an option if I already know you or you aren’t a douchebag.
Sup Pigadoken. Good to see some high level interest.
I dunno if you remember me or not but either way, sup.
I’m off of the 101 by universal.
I’m still trying to figure out the possible scale of this. As far as an entry fee… I’m thinking if I can get enough people who want to have tourneys, that I charge 10 bucks. 5 can go towards food/drinks and cleaning supplies for the apt needed from the beers that I know will eventually be spilled. I want to make sure the pot is still decent enough for a small turnout. It’s all about the gathering and practice but if there is a tourney, someone needs to win some money!
I have a group of players in my head that I’m hoping will respond. You’re actually one of them. Hopefully the group will be solid enough that I don’t have to worry about my place getting wrecked. I have no problems with these things lasting late into the night if we can keep the noise down past like 2-3am.
Maybe after I see what kind of turn out I can get I will come up with a more defined entry fee. Depending on how thrashed my apartment gets. If people can mind themselves in my place we should be golden. I just don’t want my apt destroyed.
Just don’t show up empty handed. Some food, drinks, money for either, etc. If everyone brings something we should be set for the night w/ snacks and drinks.
I want to avoid a lot of people coming and going during the late hours. My apartment complex is small so I want to avoid any issues right off the bat as far as noise.
Yo, Zugg, what’s up? It’s JC. Forti told me that you now live around Hollywood, and since I’m always kicking it in Hollywood, I’m definitely down to roll by your pad. I’ve been wanting to get some TvC games in. Let me know if it’s cool. Peace.
After doing a bit of clean up on my place, I’ve arranged everything so there is a total of 4 tvs + my pc (ggpo/emus)
I’m trying to get a feel for people not only wanting to come for TvC but also when Sf4 hits. Not to mention the already existing standards (3s, cvs2, mvc2, hdr) for the other TVs. So just because you may not be into TvC don’t hesitate to show interest for the other games.
I know most everyone is or will be into sf4, including me. I’m sure Sf4 will be on both of my xbox setups once its out.
Let’s get this going!
Warren just got here right now, bout to get some TvC in for a few hours. (Sunday 2:30)
Well there is enough interest to set something up it seems. I’d like to set up larger gatherings vs 1-2 people showing up once in a while. That’s all good too but stuff like that can happen whenever. When is good for everyone to get together at once?
The apartment is set up, Tv’s are in place. Just need people.
Long time. I can’t remember the last time I saw you.
Well I work at Universal Studios so you’re probably really close. I’m always down to play any game. I haven’t played hardcore since evo 2k3. With all these new games coming out, I’m down to get back into.
