Itto is pretty rare that any top players post anything.
This, to me, is the saddest part of the community.
Yea he still plays Zero. I believe his team is Zero/Cap/Virgil. At least that’s the team he played at the invitational.
As far as top players contributing… They most just use the tech people post and other people give them credit for making it. Viscant gave a shotout to Chrisis and FlyingVe though.
He dropped it and got killed.
On the topic of top players posting, Killerkai posts kinda regularly as do Viscant and Clockwork, Jwong was posting earlier on in the Iron Fist boards, but thing is top players would rather be discussing among top players than with people on the internet who they probably consider as online scrubs.
No doubt about Kai. I’m usually rooting for him simply because he posts and doesn’t come off like a jerk. Same with Viscant. I wouldn’t be mad at Marn since he never really posted regularly. He’d pop in once in a while, drop a little knowledge then bounce. Viscant does the same, just a little more often. I’d say Kai is probably the most active of the top players.
Yeah, Chrisis is more active in the pacific north thread ( I actually see him around norcal a bit ) last time I talked to eliver ( killarkai i call people by there names as habit ) was after scr and it was mostly a congrats to him as a friend. But honestly if all these players consider the best wheres their proof, we as zero users know why but ever notice how these top players never say why besides " yeah zeros the best "… like it pisses me off.

Coming from competitive Smash I’ve always found it a little odd how little the top players post considering you see the top Smash players like M2K, Ally, Mango, PP, KirbyKaze, Kage, etc. post more than anyone by far (and more useful content than anyone - M2K has contributed a ton of frame data and general strategy for instance). Maybe it’s a result of the nature of competitive Smash since the only way to find competition in that game is through some kind of grassroots community. That would only serve to maybe explain why they are active though, not why their volume of posts is so much higher than every other active poster.
Never had a problem with posting on the strategy sections of the forums now and then. Been doing it since the strider forums in MvC2. It’s always good to exchange ideas. One thing of note however is that I’m pretty much never in the wesker or taskmaster forums. It might be because nothing ever goes on there, but this is definitely the section to be at.
Does any other subforums have as much information as the Zero ones? Haven’t look recently.
The AE makoto one…
not sure about other Marvel ones, maybe Viper’s.
Well yeah I meant Marvel ones.
Thought Viper and Dante were up there with the Zero ones? Aint been to em in ages though so no idea. No surprise with the Dante boards though a lot of the top contributors cross-over between Zero and Dante boards.
I think the zero forums are still alive because us people who used him in vanilla and contributed then are around now.
The zero forums are one of the only few that have a few new post everyday that are relevant. Im glad we keep this forum alive

May we all learn the Lightning loop so we can have fun OHKing our friends during this new year
Now im a Zero player myself but people don’t understand the hardwork to play with this character. Tell me whta you guys think…

Everyone is hating on Zero mostly right now, but i think spencer needs to be looked at just as much.
Spencer has average health, Zero has low health. (i think zero needs to be nerfed to his vanilla health in an update to stay balanced)
Zero has to work a lot more for his damage in combos, Spencer doesn’t, but doesn’t build as much meter.
Zero has the most potential in the game, but you cannot just slap him in a team by himself and expect to do well, spencer can be put anywhere and does great.
Spencer and Zero are BOTH hard to block.
Zero has more bad matchups against spencer, even with the right assists. (e.g. trish, hawkeye, tasky…) Spencer’s bad matchups are far and few between if he even has any. (i’m going to have to look into his matchups)
All in all, i think everyone agrees, wesker isn’t the problem, it’s Zero and spencer. I’d say give Zero health like strider so that when he gets touched he really does die, and remove that lightning crossup in the corner thing. For spencer i think they need to make his grapple scale and reduce the amount of damage he does.
I think the top 5 characters in the game are as follows, taking into account how well they fit into teams and how well they do with and without assists.
- Spencer for reasons explained above.
- phoenix (i’ve played against a lot of phoenix players the past few days and i can tell you aside from the spam factor that got nerfed, she’s still one of the best in the game.)
- Wesker simply because he’s still godlike and can be put anywhere in a team.
- Zero (i don’t think i need to explain this)
- Magneto or Doom. (doom because he’s really good in this game and has his uses as an assist character, and Magneto because he’s still godlike.)
better than wesker by far
same reason why cvs2 vice isnt used much in a-groove.
its the same concept, combo your opponent into the corner, activate, unorthodox tk motions x n, dead character.
He’s better, but wesker fits ANYWHERE. Zero you have to construct a team around. Hence my opinion.
I’ll say this: Anybody who gets the Lightning Loop down enough to do it in a tournament setting can pick any other characters they want for the other two slots. That’s friggin’ scary.
Imagine a Phoenix team with Zero on point. I’d definitely use the meter for a Lightning Loop to kill off one character.
