Agree 110%, The only reason they community considers Zero top tier as of now is because of the Zero forums.

I think what everyone is trying to say here is that we put a lot of effort to get Zero to where he is today and we hate to see it all shit on because Justin Wong is salty about him at the moment when he’s proven time and time again that he’s a terrible judge of characters. Sentinel is broke. Adon sucks. Iron Fist is amazing, etc etc.

No idea man, but J.Wong has NO reason to complain about Zero, he played wolverine/akuma in vanilla which was more braindead that zero could ever be. He’s salty because his characters are nerfed and now people can actually beat him.

But I’ll say that Zero is the best in UMVC3. I think that the only reason he wasn’t the best in Vanilla is because of Phoenix.

Well as far as Vanilla goes I know I badly wanted to play Zero but Vanilla was my first real tournament game so it took a while to build that confidence. There were alot of things that changed in other characters that made Zero better this time around. Firstly there were alot of pairs that were cheaper than any single character or pair thats in ultimate. Wolverine/Akuma, Dante/Haggar, She Hulk/Tron. Ive never seen Flocker play but ive heard that his Zero/Tron was another example of this. Zero is a character that is only at his best with complete team synergy. A good example of this would be Toasters team. I tried it one night and even though my dante was ass i felt invincible like theres was no way to get past zero in the first place. Also in Vanilla there was DHC glitch so really no one played him first. There was also a lot better meter gain and IMO meter solves the matchup for alot of characters against Zero. Damage was higher and combos were easier so every touch meant death everytime. All in all it was the general changes to the system that buffed Zero more than anything.
I agree with this 110%. I really hate how he whines about a character and everyone just jumps on board. I’m not at all saying that Zero isnt gdlk, but tbh, he wouldnt be half as good as he is without the hard work of the Zero forums and intelligent players. Like seriously, how often do you lose to a braindead, x-factored Zero in tournament/online/ANYTIME??? If you lose to a Zero player, he out played you with a character that happens to be really good. I have never heard of someone getting “randomed out” by Zero… Just my 2 cents though…

I honestly dont think theyre’s gonna be a Zero bandwagon because of JWong’s comments. Everyone in the NYC scene seemingly agrees that he is at worst top 3, but everyone accepts his BS cause he takes work, rejump combos to give you enough time to have charged buster, or put you at the right distance take timing, lightning loops to get full damage potential take execution. Yeah he easily has godlike normals, but one wrong move and Zero dies. Even if there is an attempt at a bandwagon, it will die out when the frauds realize he’s not pick-up & win.
Zero has always been godlike. The only reason people might think otherwise is because he’s a top character that takes work to maximize damage. And by the time his combo’s were starting to reach their potential…Ultimate dropped and either took stuff away from Zero or heavily changed things work.
Now he’s godlike for other reasons but Wesker is still the hot topic (Doom is getting up there it seems) at the moment. Things won’t change for a while, even after good Zero’s are placing high in tournaments.
No offense to people but I think the forum as of late’s proof that the bandwagon’s begun. Now whether it lasts for 2 months or for the rest of the game? Lets wait and find out.
And agreed, Zero/Dante forums are head and shoulders above the rest and its no surprise a lot of the players cross over. I’m grateful you guys were around when I wasn’t contributing (mainly cos SRK didn’t work all year for me until recently ¬_¬)
Vanilla dante was only slightly better than Ultimate Zero. Dante is probably second or third on the tier list in vanilla IMO, right below Phoenix and Mags.
Im just wondering if I play zero now will I be a bandwagoner lol I liked the character contributed early tech and used him casually but I feel like maining him but dont wanna seem like im playing him because jwong says hes the best
Who cares? I mean the frauds will drop him after a week. Zero is a classic case of “the grass is greener over there”. Once they realize that while good, Zero’s j.:h: isn’t a free hit confirm, that to do any type of good damage you need to do more than 
:h::s:, that if you get touched you’re done, that if you can’t hit confirm any time Raikousen hits you’ll lose, etc - they’ll drop him and run back to Wesker or mashing :h: with Hulk.
BTW, I do like the new Hulk.

You gotta be willing to stick with the character to get high damage out of your combos, the more damaging ones are not easy at all. The people who suck with him will drop out soon enough. Maybe i should put hawkeye on my team if i come up against enough good ones. >:)
Fair dos I already know how to play zero to a decent level and I use dante, RR, Strider so im used to low health. Im also pretty good when it comes to execution so combos arent a problem for me… Off to youtube I go to learn some bnb’s from nini hearts channel

I just don’t get why you all are talking like Zero is some super mega high execution character. The hardest thing about this character is lighting loop (unnecessary but useful) and charging buster constantly. That being said his execution requirements are higher than like 80% of the cast which is pretty sad.
Then you clearly don’t know shit about the character.
I have played as this character for some time and thus feel a level of ownership and right to give instructions to others. “Do not play as this top tier character, you are not authentic and need to be part of my online community of people who loudly proclaim who they main via use of their avatar.”
