Try snapping Zero out. I notice a lot of Zero players are just really comfortable with Zero on point, they build their BnBs around Zero, they rely on having assists for their Zero BnB (would the Zero 100% combo in that video have worked if either Vergil or Dante were dead?), they rely on the opponent not having the early meter (or being unwilling to break XF1) to 100% him if they do manage to touch him, and they expect Zero to have built a ton of meter by the time he dies. Zero’s assists are awful. When he’s an incoming character he won’t have Lv3 Buster ready to make his incoming safe. And there’s no safe way to bring him back in once forced out without blowing two or three meters on DHC to Sougenmu or DHC to taste the rainbow.
Not saying it’s the surefire way to beat Zero, but it’s just a thought.
When the game first came out, Marn didn’t like the new Zero as he preferred having the hard buster knockdown. At this point, I’m not too sure, but he does enjoy utilizing the Zero/Vergil DHC and has gotten consistent with it. He’s also found other ways to compensate the lack of the DHC glitch with magneto on his team by forcing lockdown setups into Vergil rapid slash, giving him a free mixup.
ground chains, orb cancels, wall crossups, the kitchen sink, you name it. The match does become tough being that you have to be cautious if you choose to play the air to ground game since Vajra can catch you. And on the ground once Strider is in, the frame traps he has can really be a problem especially if you were already charging a buster shot. If you were charging with jab, you lost your quickest counter poke. If you want to switch, you have to press another button which could risk getting counter hit. If you wanna release, strider just might hit you as you are about to let go.
From my experience vs strider, his teleports are a bitch especially if he has a beam assist like magneto and he can cross you up with it whenever he wants to.
but his teleports (not the C version) don’t track that well… you just move forward or backwards while he does it it misses you and usually you can punish him well.
also vs the C teleport (the assist like teleport) you can just JC is all day. and if you block it in the air high enough you can punish it for free.
j623b is also very nice vs all of his teleports as he gets hit by the lightning all the time.

It only took 10 months for people to finally admit how bullshit Zero is.
This character in general just has mindless normals that combined with his specials just cover way too much ground. He doesn’t cover ground space as quickly as Wesker so there’s a bit of work involved there but it doesn’t matter since he can put way more hit boxes on the screen effectively making his ability to control space and set up damage completely better than Wesker’s.
He also has too many ways to cover his whiffs with 825k health as some way to balance him. He is capable of way too much damage for being what is the best character in the game within close range. As cheap as that all is it would be fine if he just didn’t do some much damn damage on top of that. Even if you just have one basic assist you can still do 1million + damage with one meter with lightning loop. That should just not be possible.
Sure…he requires a bit more work than Wesker or Wolverine but the end result is a character that’s completely scarier than both of them to the point where I’d rather fight Wesker or Wolvie any day.
I definitely see people gravitating towards lamer characters like Hawkeye and Trish to deal with Zero in the future.
Looking forward to the influx of tier whores followed by them all dropping him 2 days later when they realize he actually takes effort.
Zero is good when people have put real time into him and know the character, just like anyone else. I’m tired of Justin Wong ruining my characters though, dude got the band wagons tarted on Fei, now he’s gonna do it to Zero to. Fucking hell :shake:
I’d really like to see you play (not an 8 month old video, im sure you’ve improved) or play you even. you’ve pretty much been contributing tremendously to all of your chars’ metagames so you must have some skill to back it up.
I am just gonna say I planned on maining Zero since the game was announced (there’s evidence in my old SRK posts lol), and I’ve been maining him since vanilla when the game was officially released.
Too bad that the bandwagon is going to start really soon, top players are the community’s fathers, and everything they say even, when wrong, is the absolute truth for the community.
At this point, if somebody calls me a “tier whore” or a “fraud” because of using Zero, I couldn’t give a single ----. Many of us were the ones who contributed to this character and made it to what is today IMHO even if it sounds cheesy. I would really want to see the true fraudulent players that didn’t care on going to the lab and abused Wesker and Wolvie’s easy playstyle all the way until now, create so much tech like us. Look at other character’s forums, IMO, most of them have nothing on all the the things we’ve discussed and all content we’ve uploaded (and Zero wasn’t really a popular character in vanilla nor now).
Im gonna be honest here, I only picked Zero at the last 2 months of vanilla, but I really liked him and I still do. But guys, let’s not concentrate on making up excuses or give reaons of why we play Zero, we just play Zero because we like him and he’s good, some of us use him because he’s fun, some others because of his damage, etc. There’s no difference between a day 1 Zero or an old Zero besides skill level, they both use the same character whatever the reason is.
