So, I have some comics I’m looking to sell. I am gonna put most of these up on eBay, but I thought I would give the good people of SRK first crack. I’ll list the lots individually with their prices. (The final prices already include shipping costs, so that’s all you need to pay.) If anyone is interested in anything I’m selling, just post in this thread, and after that we can communicate via PM to set up the logistics and such. Payment can be via PayPal or you can mail me a check or straight cash. (I won’t ship the comics until I receive payment, so if you send me a check you’ll have to wait a while so I can make sure it clears. Thus, PayPal is most likely preferred.) I’ll keep this thread up for about 5-7 days or so, and at that point I will assume no one is interested. I also have pictures of all of these comics, so if you want to see them, just ask me. If you have any other questions or want more details about any of these comics, just ask.
[EDIT: The items that are in red text have been sold.]
Now for what I’m selling:
**
- Spawn Lot - Issues 1, 8, 9, and 12.** Spawn #1 is signed by Todd McFarlane himself. Please note that I do not guarantee authenticity of his signature. (This comic is from a friend of a friend which was signed years ago at a convention.) Issue 8 is written by Alan Moore while #9 is by Neil Gaiman. To sweeten the pot further, I’ll even toss in a copy of Carnage: It’s a Wonderful Life. Relive the epitome of the '90s zeitgeist! Price: $5
**2. Punisher Lot - Punisher/Painkiller Jane One-Shot, Punisher Armory #s 4 and 6, The Punisher volume 1 #s 1, 3, 4, and 5, plus two Wizard Special Edition Marvel Knights Sketchbooks. **The Punisher/Painkiller Jane book is written by Garth Ennis and is likely the cream of the crop of this lot. The Punisher Armory issues are from the '90s series that was basically a dossier/handbook about Punny’s guns, ammo, vehicles, and other tools. The Punisher volume 1 issues are the “Circle of Blood” storyline, the original Steven Grant/Mike Zeck miniseries that first brought Punny into the “grim ‘n’ gritty” style. It was a 5 issue series but I’m missing #2. The Wizard Marvel Knights sketchbooks are from the very early days of the Marvel Knights brand. Price: $5
**
3. She-Hulk Lot - She-Hulk #s 1-12 and She-Hulk: Time Trials TPB.** This is the Dan Slott run. It’s a full run with no missing issues. It’s some of his best work, particularly the first 12 issues. The Time Trials TPB collects #s 1-5 from the relaunch of Slott’s run, so this lot is essentially the first 17 issues of Slott’s run on the character. It’s good, funny stuff. Price: $20
4. Black Widow Lot - Black Widow #s 1-6. This is the full run of the first Richard K. Morgan miniseries under the Marvel Knights banner. (Morgan hasn’t written many other comics but he is a damn fine novelist.) The art is by Goran Parlov and Bill Sienkiewicz! This is one of my favorite Marvels of the past several years. This story really makes the Widow a strong leading character, with depth and conviction. Greg Land did the cover art for the series, which really doesn’t fit the hardass tone of the series, but this is definitely a fantastic read that probably flew under the radar. I’m only putting it for sale 'cause I found a copy of the TPB. Price: $5
**
5. The Atomics Lot - The Atomics #s 2-15.** This is a near-complete run of Mike Allred’s The Atomics series. I never could find the first issue. The Atomics are an unconventional superteam and the book has that Allred offbeat charm. If you dig Madman or X-Force/X-Statix, you’ll like this. Art’s pretty awesome, and Madman himself shows up as does the Savage Dragon. The only reason I’m looking to sell this is 'cause I own it in TRADE, BABY. Otherwise I would keep it forever. Price: $8
**
6. Dreadstar Lot - Dreadstar #s 1-4, 7-18, 20-46, 48-62. ** This is a near-complete run of the entire Dreadstar epic. (The entire series lasted 64 total issues, plus I think an annual or two that I could never find.) Dreadstar, in case you don’t remember it, was a notable '80s series creator-owned series by Jim Starlin. You know, the Warlock/Thanos/Infinity Gauntlet dude. He wrote and drew the first 40 issues (with occasional help from guest artists such as Luke “Suicide Squad” McDonnell). After Starlin finished the saga he wanted to tell, he passed the torch to Peter David and Angel Medina, who worked on the rest of the run. The series is kind kind of a cross between space-opera and superhero fiction, and the Starlin part of it definitely has a lot of his cosmic musings. So if you like Captain Marvel, Warlock, Thanos, the Infinity Gauntlet, and all that stuff, you will probably really like this, too. The Peter David run takes a different approach to the cast and is less heavy-handed and more humorous, and probably feels more modern than Starlin’s. Overall, this has got to be a highlight of '80s comics. The first 26 issues were published Epic Comics and after that it was published by First Comics. ** Price: $30**
7. Batman: Gotham Knights Lot - Batman: Gotham Knights #s 32-46. This is a straight run of issues without any gaps. #32 is the final Devin Grayson issues, and it’s a nice one-off story about a day in the life of Batman. The subsequent issues are by Scott Beatty and Roger Robinson. These issues all have Batman: Black & White backup stories, featuring work from people like the Bru, Jill Thompson, COOKE, Scott Morse, Sean Phillips, Mike Mignola, Azzarello, Jim Mahfood, Mike Carey, and more. Price: $10
**8. Batman: Hush hardcovers volumes 1 and 2. ** It’s Batman: Hush by Jeph Loeb and Jim Lee. These are the two hardcovers collecting their entire run, issues 608-619. I’m not proud of owning these, but I’m sure someone else would treat these innocent books with more love and respect than I could. I’ve never abused these books in any way, physically or emotionally, but I have to admit I don’t love them the way every book deserves to loved. The volume 1 HC is not completely in perfect condition - the second-to-last page is attached to the spine weirdly. It’s not in danger of being torn or anything, but I figured it would be right to mention it in case mint condition is a concern to anyone. I think both of these hardcovers are out of print and each has a retail price of $19.99. Price: $25
**
9. Alan Moore’s Swamp Thing Lot - Swamp Thing TPBs volumes 1-6.** This is obviously the crown jewel of all the stuff I am looking to sell. The only reason I am selling these sexy TRADES, BABY is because these are all extra copies! (Yeah, I AM that hardcore… I bought these books twice.) These books collect the entirety of Alan Moore’s seminal run on Swamp Thing, minus one issue he wrote for the sole purpose of tying up the loose ends of the previous writer’s work. The issues collected are #21 all the way through 64. The artists include Jon Totleben, Stephen Bissette, Rick Veitch, and Shawn McManus. Each individual book retails for $19.95, except for volume 5 which retails for $17.95. This is something every comics fan should read. Price : $55
