ZD Arcade Control Encoder And ZD ReMatch (PS3/PS2/PC) (The most cost efficient PCBs to date!)

No, it worked on ps3 and pc out of the box, no xbox.

Oh I was about to be really confused because last I checked with it, it did not play well with other boards.

As for your laptop version of windows 7 I am not sure why it would not be working with it. In my windows 7 it comes up as a gamepad 3 or something like that. Maybe something in your bios doesn’t like it.

I am brand new to Shoryuken and a little lost when it comes to electronics. If there is a better place to ask these questions, please let me know.

I am using the ZDA control encoder and it is working nicely with the switches I have it soldered to. I am building a couple of arcade controllers for Divekick and am working with the 100mm dome buttons (from SparkFun) that have an LED built inside to illuminate them. The voltage right now for these is at 12v, I want to lower that voltage so that I can work with this specific PCB in order to power the LEDs in the buttons. I know that people have had success with taking out the resistor found in the housing of the LED and swapping it out with something more useful (here is the post referencing that). So here are a couple questions I have with this specific PCB…

  1. Can I get power from the board itself?
  2. Where do I need to get the power from?
  3. What resistor would I need to get in order to get the correct voltage needed for these LEDs?

I just saw a guy get his power from the ZD like this:

+5V, IIRC. Source: http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,131366.0.html

emphatic do you know if both those solder points are needed for the +5v?

Well, one is +5V and the other is GND, I guess.

for the ZD boards with the PS2 functions… I assume I will also have to get the separate source from the ps2 3.3v, not just the usb +5V? like if i wanted to use an optical joystick for this pcb but make it work for both ps2 and ps3/pc connectors.

Is anyone using the ZD USB Encoder PS2 PS3 PC to Joystick for MAME & Arcade Fight Stick Control with success on a PS2? I just installed one, the buttons work, but getting zero input from my 5 pin Sanwa Joystick. It didn’t come with instructions, hope I have it hooked up wrong.

You do have it hooked up wrong.

Try swapping the USB plug and Joystick plug around.

Bingo!!!That did the trick. Thanks Gahrling!

You can be forgiven for assuming that the 5 pin header next to the ps2 header would be for the usb.

does anyone know which PS2 to 360 convertor works with this? i have tried 3 and nothing . i am assuming this is common line so cant dual mod it onto a 360 controller.

The ZD encoders are all common ground as far as I can tell.

I’ve tried the Xtokki adapter with this but it suffers from a lot of lag, which is a real shame. If you want it working on PS2 and 360 then I’d strongly suggest getting a PS360+ board instead.

Sadly your choices for Xbox 360 support is what gahrling suggested and get a PS360+ (* which causes a few issues themselves community wise)
or cannibalize a existing Common ground Xbox 360 pad (like a Mad Catz Fight Pad) and perform a actual dual mod.

  • My issue…

[details=Spoiler] On the technical standpoint the PS360+ is great as its a all-in-one PCB solution. And they are Stupid easy to set up.
And they are great where space is a concern. The Problem is too many people are becoming too reliant on the all-in-one solution of the PS360+ now.
Too many scrub “moders” are now spoiled with what the PS360+ as to offer, they never learned any REAL modding and now with Next Gen, much of these SOFT moders are up the creak without a paddle[/details]

Yeah before I bought the board I sent you a message on here and twitter gahrling asking to purchase another one. Didn’t get a response so bought this. The adapter I tried it won’t send the correct inputs. It’s always at df and no buttons work.

Nevermind.

Sorry dude - I haven’t had any notifications of a message sent so it must be a software error or how I’ve got things set up. Apologies for the fail. Regardless I have been sold out of PS360+ boards for a very long time now, IIRC I updated my sales thread on this forum about being out of stock.

R3 it?

inferior MC Cthulhu ?

What?
