Do you have the cable with a PSX connector, or only one with an USB? When I got mine, you’d have to ask specifically (and pay extra) for the cable with both PSX and USB.
That 9-pin on the right should be the spot for the PSX cable. My ZD Rematch (came with red ports on the PCB) came with a USB/PSX cable combo. Even though a Playstation 2 has a USB port, USB arcade sticks won’t work.
I tried a couple of months ago to “merged” the USB and PSX wires into a RJ45 single one… but I think I messed it up 'cause I can’t even make the ZD to work with any of them.
Maybe my wiring wasn’t that good, I took the diagram from the PS360+ overview pdf… I think I will do it again with more patience and time. Since this is a great board, with some potential, the only down for me is the “Y” cable, that’s why I tried to merged them.
But now, I connect the PSX cable, only works if I connect the USB on the playstation too, and when i press and hold button he stay enable
as if it were turbo button
It’s not common ground, I don’t think you’re going to be able to make that work. If you want a pass through RJ45 that retains both uses, you’ll probably have to set it up with a DPDT or an IMP swapping the D+ and D- lines, and I’m not even 100% sure that would work with the way the ZD is grounded either.
You might have screwed the board up by plugging both in and turning it on. Could you re-phrase the “when i press and hold button he stay enable as if it were turbo button” bit? I’m not sure what you mean.
If you have a multimeter, check to see if the turbo signal is meeting ground. Set your multimeter to check continuity (or to ohms if yours lacks that specific setting) and touch both contact points on the turbo connector. If there’s continuity, it’s grounding. If that’s the case, look at the back of the board to see if the solder joints are making contact to each other- de solder them if so.
So I just built one of these up and am having problems, not sure if anyone can help. I’ve got 2 computers, when I plug the stick I wired with with ZD into my computer running Windows 8.1 it goes through the normal device setup procedure and everything, but the stick never comes up in my USB Game Controllers list. When I plug it into my laptop running WIndows 7, everything seems to work as it should, it shows up in game controllers and all inputs are detected, but if I try and use it in SFIV or other games, nothing. Any thought?
Yeah, I tried switching back and forth and nothing. I am using Steam Streaming to play it off the computer running Windows 8.1 that the stick wont work on if that makes a difference. No PS, but I tried it out in MAME on the Windows 7 machine and it works fine in there. Just no Steam or Windows 8.
I just bought one of the Y type PS2/PS3/PC versions specifically for the ps2 functionality. Got it all wired up and everything is working except the ps2 part.
According to the directions, i’m supposed to assign the menu/analog button? to a button or else it wont work. Did that and tested it on my ps3 and pc and it all works fine. Tried it on my PS2 and its not reading it at all.
I’ve heard that USF4 is picky on pc, do you have any other Steam games you could test it on? I don’t have Windows 8, so I can’t be of any assistance in that regard.
If I recall correctly, I don’t think you need to connect it for PS2 use, should be fine with or without. Pardon if this comes off as a stupid question, but you’re using the PS2 connector, not the USB connector, correct (and not both simultaneously)? If you have the menu/analog button connected, did you press it while the ps2 was on? Have you tried plugging it in after the game boots up (I’ve never had to do that, but it’s worth a shot for troubleshooting’s sake)?
