I just installed zsnes and tried to play last night but I had to many problems with not having the same roms. So I am trying to get all versions of ssf2 ssf2t ssfce.
Plus I really suck but hope fully this will improve my game when I get owned 1000-0
I play under Wolf so if any one wants to school a scrub just ceatch me on zbattle.
Dark Gaden and Vitage… Good Games, Your Ryu and ken were hard to defeat(those are my toughest match ups for my Guile).
JSJ I still challenge you(I am Battosai). JSJ of the subject: do think Hyper SF2 AE is major tourney worthy?
Cole and Kuni says it isn’t because its broken, just ban WW mode for crying out loud. I just don’t understand how they can’t say its a serious tourney game when both of them have had competed at CE and HF and those games were not balenced ether and they were serious games. And to set the record straght, I don’t want it to replace ST and I just hope for the game to be in the main line up for Evo 05(nothing wrong with 2 SF2 games, there is 2 tekken games in the line up). If the game does make it in the line up, then I am sure that Schaffer and Tomo will enter, now thats a good enough insentive for me.
Just thougt I’d ask for your opinion bro, I don’t have a lot of supporters for Hyper SF2 AE to be in tournaments.
okay, i cant get any feedback off the damn zbattle forums so i’ll ask here. anyone try playing anyone with winXP sp2 installed? I’ve tried everything. ive forwarded the ports in the sp2 firewall, disabled the firewall, everything, won’t let me connect. someone has got to have sp2 on their system and has tried it. anyone?
Well, I am still looking forward to our battle. But as for your question…Do I feel SF2 AE to be a tournament worth game? No. I do not and I here is why. The game feels like a novelty. All of the old characters are just too powerful…and I say this because their normals are just super strong it’s not even funny! I played last night for several hours and discovered that both New ST Ken and ST Fei Long STRUGGLE against CE Guile. Especially Fei Long…Guile nearly pummels him for free in AE. Now it’s different if I am playing Fei vs Super SF2 Guile or ST Guile because they are different…but CE Guile?? No way dude. His attacks and charge times are fucking sick compared to the later SSF and ST versions of him.
Now the game WOULD be tournament worth if:
Everyone’s attacks were evened out…based on one set of damage rules.
No redizzies. This ruins the game.
Damage. 2 major hits = dizzy?? C’mon…i can understand that happening at random but when it happens consistently it’s just terrible. I wish Everyone’s attacks were evened out…based on one set of damage rules.
Those are my main gripes about the game. The game is novelty to me. I like it. It’s fun. But it is not tournament worthy IMO.
Give me a break dude…I mean no hate toward your opinion JSJ…But I am glad CE Guile is as powerful as he was in his original game…having him evened out wouldn’t make any sense except please the whiners who want a “balanced game”. CE Guile wouldn’t be any different then the other versions, and the WHOLE point of AE is to have the character’s versions exactly as they were in their original games. Maybe you feel this way because you are so used to playing ST for so long and have never played CE or HF as long to know CE and HF are the real better SF2 games…The Super games were a mistake made by Capcom.
Besides, did anyone bother complaining about dizzies and characters being too strong back in the Pre SUPER SF2 North vs South Cali era…doubt it, they accepted it and still enjoyed competing at it (competition taken seriously). Having SF 2 games balanced is ridiculous because it would make winning more difficult if you are playing a weak guile (too much work). Playing CE Guile is my opportunity to shine like it did for Tomo and Thomas in pre Super SF2 days and that’s what I want a chance to experience (especially since CE and HF are’nt in mainstream competition anymore, if they were I would have no reason to compete at AE)…not having ST as being the last installment of the SF2 series. I agree with Vintage when he said that AE should not have ST version’s of characters in the game…just WW through Super.
WHY should any one have their characters weakened for someone else because they have trouble against that character?
I guess you can say we are 2 completely different players with different tastes for OG SF2 JSJ…
ce-guile, also realize that those gmaes came out years ago. standards have changed on acceptance. i dont know anyone that really likes dizzies. if you think about em, dizzies are just lame. also realize, peoples skill levels and thought processes were way different back then. like when WW came out, game fucking owned obviously, but look at that game now on its own, its fucking garbage now. standards change.
but i do agree, the characters should be left the way they are. but i also agree with jesse that its just a novelty game. but i do think its totally playable if you just ban ww characters cuz you cant mirror match, which was really gay of capcom to do that, which is another thing pointing to changing standards as i said earlier.
Very Good Games JSJ…To be honest…I (battosai) only played a couple of matches in the beginning using Guile and Sim (and never won, my gameplan sucked today), then I let my twin brother Jarrod (he has used my login names a few times on srk to write our opinion on AE) take over for the rest of the night until you left, and he played Guile much better at the vs Shoto match ups than I can. We share my login name on zbattle.net like Dark Gaiden and Vintage due.
Nah man. No hate felt on my side. Believe me, I was there back in the day pumping quarters into SF1, SF2, SF CE and SF2 HF so it’s not a difference in old skool tastes. It’s plain as day. Look at the damage that gets dealt by the og characters…If I play SSF 2 Guile and you play SF2 CE Guile and we do some combo observations. You let me jump in and do fierce, low strong, flash kick…I deal 40% damage…no dizzy. You do the same combo on me and you’re using CE Guile…You deal 50-60% damage with a dizzy to boot! Whether I get dizzy or not you deal WAY more damage than I do for doing the same amount of work. Who’s working harder for the win here? Yeah the game is balanced if i play CE characters against your CE characters. I am all for keeping the characters the EXACT same way as they were in their original games but NOT the damage and dizzy properties. Even if you were to even out the damage and dizzy properties the og characters would still have the edge because of their moves and priorities. I’m no whiner. I am stating my opinion on the game. Of course nobody complained back in the pre SSF2 era because everyone was on the same level and had the same set of game engine rules.
I am not saying the og characters should be weakened…I have no trouble dealing out beatdowns to og characters…but when regular attacks do 3X the damage compared to other fighters in the game… it’s no different than the handicap settings of the old home versions of SF collection. Maybe that handicap was done on purpose?? Who knows. The engine of the game is screwed and that is what makes it a novelty game…
Take for example…New ST Ken’s jab DP. Ok, I can walk up and do meaty low forward kick and either throw OR do a jab dp and stuff any kind of reversal attempt. That includes stuffing tiger uppercuts, flash kicks, reversal throws…ok…I am playing VS a CE Guile player and I do the exact same setup. He flash kicks me CLEAN out of a jab DP…and this was a super deep dp also…in the beginning frames of it. If I recall correctly the ST versions of Ryu and Ken have jab DP’s that are invincible during the first few frames of startup. So why does Guile retain his abilities and Ken doesn’t? It’s the little things like this that screw the game up in old characters’ favor.
I simply disagree with you, that’s all. Those were very good games last night. your guile is very good.
What you said above is exactly the reason why I want to compete using CE Guile, and in order for that to happen we need SF2 AE to be a serious mainstream tournament game. CE Guile with his high damage is the REAL Guile.
ive got some questions about ssf2 throws, can any of you share your knowledge?
can you…
Throw Somebody before they throw you? (like jump-in RH blocked -> they walk a step, throw) , (close c.Jab, throw) , (Hurricane Kick, throw) ; is it possible(if so, to pull it off consistently?)? is there some kinda rule/godly timing involved, or does the timing change
Throw on wakeup?
is there…
throw “priority”? meaning like if 2 different characters hit the throw command at the same time, character A would throw character B each time because his higher.
i still have the habit of mashing forward + fierce
