Gumby or Gummy?? Anyways, yeah he got alot of those tick throws from both DGV and Me. Once he got the hang of it he started incorporating it into his game…which is cool…I don’t mind people biting moves and tactics just don’t mimic me like an xcopy robot. But yeah he definitely has a good fight plan and he’s a solid fighter. You have to reverse his tick throws. ALL tick throws can be stuff with uppercuts and flashkick type moves…sometimes hurricane kicks. If you are using fighters like DeeJay, Vega, Bison, Honda, Chun Li and Gief you pretty much have to rely on some kind of reversal throw. Thats what sucks about SSF2…in ST all fighters have some kind of wake up reversal…like a super or a counter attack.
Learn which way to block…crossups are deadly in this game so definitely learn how to block them.
As for fireball traps…there are ways to get out of them but you have to guess what speeds the fb’s are coming at you. You could do an uppercut through them but you run the risk of being hit on the way down or leaving yourself open to a low sweep or throw. If it were me, I’d be patient and take a few block damage hits from the trap so I can make sure I get out as safely as possible.
And for the Dhalsim tick throw…that shit is so weak its almost funny. He cant throw you while you are blocking so you have to make sure you are coming up with some sort of reversal(uppercut, flashkick, spd) and stuff his ass! But then it becomes a mind game. He can do low l.kick and NOT throw you and wait for you to do a reversal uppercut…leaving you wide open for another throw or grab. Sim cant take damage for shit, so rush him down at whatever chance you get.
Have you guys messed around with the record function with Zsnes? I recorded a few SMK battle mode matches online just for testing and they came out smooth and the file size is really small (I did 20 rounds of battle mode and it was only 281KB).
Zsnes saves the file a special media file called .zmv and usually gives it a weird name when recording online, like SMK was SUPERM~.zmv, but once offline if you change the name to match your rom name (i.e. SuperMarioKart.zmv), it will play back perfectly. The main problem is that some people have different rom names or other people who wants to watch it don’t even own EMU + rom, so you would have to record it through an screencapture type device like HyperCam or Camtasia (I prefer HC) which can output the file in .avi format.
Just thought this would be a good way to add some more life into this Zbattle topic here and thought it would be cool to see how you guys play. I’m not very good at SSF2 atm and usually everyone online only want to play experts so I don’t waste their time in playing me. I can go into more detail of the whole process if interested.

I played a couple games the other night…got owned for the most part, but the experience was spectacular, compared to Kaillera and the like…i wish there were more people on though how am i supposed to practice if no ones playing?
Question for you zbattle users…
if i want to host a game do i have to load the rom of that game first in zsnes before i select it in zbattle?
If you want to host a game, you don’t have to select the game for the znes. When you select the game for Zbattle, when the other player joins and loads the game, you will press “Start” and automatically will launch the emulator. You don’t have to select the game for the znes first.
If you play Street FIghter, come and join my game some time. My screen name is ComboadictoSF. You can join my MExican friends to whom I gave all the info to play online. Well, they are not that good, but they are learning. They told me they played Jumpsuit. Well, I hope I answered your question.

I like Honda a lot it just sucks that his worst matchup is by far the most common.
Is there much of anything that he can do if someone just sits right outside of the buttsplash moves(whatever its called) and thorws fireballs all day? I can’t jump in, the butt move will get me hit. I think I have to much blockstun to get in a headbutt. I can change the distance but someone smart will just change it back. If anyone knows of anything to do in that situation besides use a different character, help me out.
Also, when I knock someone down and am doing the slap while they get up, can they sneak in a dragon punch or any other move with a lot of invinvibility as a reversal? I’ve never had it happen but it would be good to know. I know I can get thrown if I stand too close though.
