About this whole stick vs pad thing. I’ve never been able to use a stick quite as well as I can use a pad. I don’t know why, but that’s just the way it is. However, is there a specific brand of stick I should look for? Theres one requirement. It must be usb, as I have no normal ports on my computer, just 5 usb ports on the comp itself and 2 on the keyboard. (except the place where the moniter goes and the modem & sound card, my comp is all usb)
If you are used to a pad, then by all means stick with pads.
Get the Saitek P220 Digital USB Pad. 10 bux, and they sell them at Gamestop. Best controller out there for SF games on PC.
fatherbrain: that serial port on your sound card is the game port for gameport pads
yeah the saitek P series pads are best pc pads you can buy hands down. they arent the best pads ever for fighting games but damn good, and definitely the best pc pads ive ever used. its worth it

Would it read a custom DC stick with a cherry switches? (I forgot the sticks name)
Also, does it map buttons correctly too? I hear most converters have shitty mapping.
p880 is exactly like the p220 except it adds analog support
personally, i think its fantastic for games. feels very ergonomic in the hands. best pc pads ive ever used. thank god too, cuz i think adapters are the devil!
As i stated earlier, i have NO way of hooking anything other than USB in my system. sound card, built in sabre. but thx for the tip, i may buy a sound card soon. I want a good stick to learn how to use one properly. But my comp supports nothing but usb, damn you gateway!. btw, the system i have IS a relic, but it works great now that I’ve added some ram. (700 mhz 40 gig hd, 192 megs of ram.) But I still need a stick, for I am tired of using a flight stick for the playstation to practice stick motions. Btw, I find the ps1 dualshock the best fighting pad I have tried yet.
if its onboard sound, you should still have a gameport…

Actually, I don’t have a gameport at all. I bought a used gateway for 50$ and have worked on it a bit. I believe if I’m not mistaken that this comp was made for new comp users/owners, and so they made it 100% usb only. However, it’s not all bad considering it’s only the size of a small VCR and I can still upgrade it, lol.
Anyone here having problems logging onto zbattle? I get “Error, could not connect to server” msg everytime I try.
yup yup, me too, i think maybe they are upgrading their servers or something. i dunno.
just been down for a couple days. no one knows the reason. i seen they take the server down cuz of a single individual before, and no one could provide screenshots of this “one guy” spamming. kinda ridiculous if you ask me. but oh well. its sucks that its down. its too bad people cant run their own servers. pretty crappy that we have to solely rely one a single server to play… oh well. admins arent even responding to the server issue in their forums. you would think they would say something, but wont

SRK E-dge was a good idea back in the day, a Zsnes version would be awesome right about now or an upgraded Callius(sp?) one if it supports CPS2 games (haven’t heard anything new about Callius in like 2 years).

what i wanna know is, will there be a future zbattle to where the program is not restricted to only 1 server? cuz relying on only 1 server is harsh. i wish it had a kaillera server style(except for the kaillera netcode hehe), so you can make your own server and what not, so people will always have somewhere to go when 1 server goes down.
