Is it possible that Gief have a blockable? what circumstances causes an unblocakble>

its “theoretically” possible. Zangief meets the knockdown requirement for the unblockable, but the question is the hitbox of his jump in attacks
Zangief has unblockable body splashes upon neutral/forward throwing Fei Long T.hawk and Sim.

When you get a chance record this setup with Gief in training mode against T.hawk, forward throw T.hawk then walk half a step forward and short jump body splash. Same thing with fei and Sim though it might be different timing on Fei and Sim I dont remember lol

I always assume people stopped posting in the Zangief forums for some odd reason always good to see everyone still at it and I kinda messed up explaining the unblockable setup against T.Hawk, it’s actually a normal jumping body splash after you inch forward upon forward throwing T.Hawk, kinda feels cheap when you pull it off because it’s easier to pull off then anyone might think. As for the unblockable splash against Sim it’s just slightly different than against T.Hawk, so the setup is forward throw walk forward for half a sec
then short jump body splash it’s not as easy as against T.Hawk but not difficult either. Fei Long is actually one of the easiest characters to do this on of the 3 but not as beneficial though since Gief can actually go toe to toe with Fei. Same setup as Sim, forward/neutral throw but you can walk forward until you see Gief touch Fei’s soon to be ko’d body then short jump body splash extremely easy.

Lol I think street fighter x tekken came out the same day I was looking for these unblockables against certain characters because this setup works against C.Viper, Cammy and Ibuki too, I had just forgot about them.

I found another one.
vs. Makoto in corner, after a normal throw. Just use the crouch safejump setup timing, then immediatly do a normal forward jump. Tried it many times, worked everytime. Re-recorded it aswell.
Also, vs. Sakura after a normal throw in the corner, or a beargrab that carries you to do the corner. Using the safejumptiming(crouch til you crouch then jump) you can get a seriously ambigious crossup/not crossup. Best part is that you decide. Shortjump will look like it crosses, but doesnt. Normaljump will look like it crosses, and crossup haha

I just tested all of the things the 6 opponents mentioned in Snake Eyez’s video can do to escape/beat the unblockable setup. I tested it through recording and playback on training mode.
Dhalsim can only teleport to escape.
Cammy can EX Cannon Spike, EX Quick Spin Knuckle, Ultra 1 or backdash to escape.
Fei Long can escape with EX Chicken Wing (most reliable), backdash, dash, Ultra 1 or Super (lol). He can also use Ultra 2 to blow up the splash, but Fei picking U2 vs Zangief is very unlikely. =p
Ibuki can escape with Kasumi Gake (command dash), EX neck breaker, back dash, EX Kazegiri (DP, avoids the splash but not really an escape) and Ultra 2.
T. Hawk can only escape with backdash and U2. He’ll get hit out of the air if he attempts to EX Tomahawk Buster (DP).
Viper can EX Seismo to outright beat it, which is possible if the player recognizes the setup. Aside from that she can use LP Thunder Knuckle, EX Burn Kick and backdash to get away. She can also Ultra 1, which will whiff so it’s not exactly a real escape.

Now it’s up to us to find the right OS to use for each character. =D
