At 1:12 of this video is exactly what I’m talking about.

Is there a good way to stop this escape? If not, I’ll just anxiously wait for Siberian Blizzard over the next few weeks.

I have problems with Honda, especially the neutral jump shenanigans, but in Paris last weekend Kilivan told me to use standing HK to get around that, so I’m practising that now.
around his neutral jump hands??
at what ranges are you having problems with it?
If he’s trying to do it on your wake up, you can also sweep him. He’s most likely throwing out the move at the height where it beats out lariat. If you sweep, you should get him clean. If he waits, he might be able to beat it out. But it would lose to lariat. Also some times, you might trade where you get hit and you still get the sweep. It’s pretty goofy but it’s in your favor because now you can put on wake up pressure.
If he yawns in any direction other than back you can hit him with f.cr.HK. I basicly hover around HK when he starts that NJ nonsense. Its still pretty tough to get around for me but this helps alot for players that arent absolute genious with it. When Ultra 2 is release, game over on that stuff though.
Quick Fuerte strategy that I hadn’t seen before and worked for me two rounds in a row last night - when Fuerte has ultra and you’ve knocked him down, bait out his wakeup ultra with a neutral jump towards him on his wakeup and an immediate jump backwards. You’ll land right next to him and be able to ultra/SPD back.
Good Fuertes won’t wakeup ultra, but for those Gief’s having trouble with general ones online this could help.
Edit: Of course, a very early neutral jump-in.
On the Blanka topic, any recommendations for ambiguous meaty Ultra? Couple high level players at CTF both terrorize me with these, one actually landed meaty crossup super followed by meaty non-crossup Ultra. Needless to say I was frustrated.
Gief’s sweep rapes Honda’s neutral jump fierce if they stay neutral or move forward with it. If you corner them it wins against all their neutral jumps. Use it in the same way that Blanka uses his sweep as an AA. On wake up don’t cross them over, just keep pushing them into the corner and don’t let them out. Use a safe meaty jab on wakeup and if they are in the corner and you block ANY head-butt you can punish with lk -> EX GH. This is another reason why getting them in the corner is so important.
Your best bet is just to correctly guess which side to block. It’s a huge risk for him, since if it doesn’t work out you can punish with ultra, super, lv2 focus to 360k, instant jump attack ex hand combo, etc, but obviously the payoff is very big for him as well.
Yeah the super to ultra mix-up was done pretty much because he had about a pixel of health left. Thanks for the input, I was just wondering if there was any tomfoolery I could pull off aside from guessing game.
Can anyone help me with the question on stuffing air tatsu escapes that I posted a few up? Thanks.
Neu Jump headbutt stuffs is clean timing is tricky though need to be looking for it and ready to counter although the tatsu in the vid was really high but headbut might have gotten it. It really depends on getting a read on the person you are playing against and figureing out when they are starting to feel boxed in.
hey Bp Amoco, gg yesterday dude, add me on xbox if u wanna get some practice in
hi guys i made a video on how to properly use zangiefs lariat i hope this will give you a knew way of looking at this and improve your level of play. enjoy

Hey troll good thing that Ryu couldnt block or punish. You should stick to tekken.
Also whats your online name hit me up for some matches online and i will show you what a real gief looks like.
So psychic headbutt/neu m.punch is the only bet…ugh, ok I was afraid of this. Thanks. It just sucks to work so hard to get Ryu in the corner and then have him able to get out so easily. Ayway, thanks.
Please cry more scrub. We all love it here.
Instead of crying and trolling, you should work on your Ken some more, because its dogshit.
Wow that is great. Very cool Guru. Who would have guessed that guy was the worse player i have ever seen on SRK.
Yeah, strange thing was the Ken (full screen fierce DP, really?) video was on the same account as the Lariat video. Why hang onto a video of yourself playing poorly and DC’ing? Confounding.
