you can safe jump 4 frame reversals and with good attacks you can psuedo-safejump 3 framers

I dunno, since super, that shit got hella harder to do with Gief. Might just be me.

What’s the best reversal if you block Adon’s punch super. Recovery seems to be instant.

How do you counter guys (ex)flip throw? I tried lariat - get grabbed, if i block i’m grabbed, do i jump? GH??

I use cr.mp against his jump ins, beats them clean. Cannot remember what happens vs EX grab, try it in training mode

cr. mp needs more love as an anti air. It stuffs so many (not all ! ) anti lariat options.

I prefer U1 simply because I get STUPID with U2…like a ST Ryu player with Super…I just get real trigger happy, and set myself up for getting hurt when I use U2. However, when I’m really on my game I prefer U2. When I’m in a U1 situation I usually punish with a normal SPD or a combo gives me KD - on the flipside, I give myself more flexability with U2 no MATTER the match-up.

Aye, I have friends who no matter the match just don’t jump against my Gief, or at least in situations where U2 would be beneficial, so for them because I play them - I relegate myself to U1.

It’s hard to practice, but IMO PATIENCE is HUGE with Gief. We have high health for a reason. Don’t feel you have to jump/gh/lariat every fireball.

But what normal would be of use? The only one I can think of is c.mp which has 8 frames of start-up…so that will lose cleanly…its one of the reasons I HATE the Cammy match-up sooooo much.

I love the cammy matchup…

I think it is c.lp or c.lk that works; but it isn’t to hit her out of hooligan, it is to force crouch attack to override the 1f of standing on wakeup. It is the only way to avoid certain DDT/Bushin/Hooligan setups that exploit the standing frame.

My mission for the week: use more cr.MP. I’ve been seeing a lot of Guy and Akumas online lately and getting pounded with the bushin throws etc on wakeup.

Why does ex spd which is 3 frames work vs safe jumps but regular spd not work? I use this but want to know why from someone better with the mechanics.

I believe it is because ex-spd has inv frames and all regular spd’s have 1 frame of complete vulnerability/throwability during startup.

I dont know how anyone can use c.mp in a meaty situation. They don’t even need to have perfect timing to stuff it since its so slow. Only MU’s i see it useful is Elf and Chun.

can’t takes 8 frames before active. It’s not truly meaty if your getting it off.

I never use c mp I really should but aa lariet comes out so fast. Also what fuerte move gets beat by cmp.

I have a question do any of you guys use far HP and if so who does it work best on?

imo st.hp is absolutely useless and there’s really no reason or situation to ever use it.

I’ve been able to beat tortilla with cr.mp (in non meaty situations)

It beats neutral jumping depending on distance. Same for c.hp…
