As far as i know it depends on the hight you activate it. When you do it at his first jumping frames it is very controllable.

do instant air u2 then just holdforward back or up depending on where you want to go

But I’ve done the instant U2 and it just flies so slow sometimes…and other times I would activate at or around the same height and it would just fly straight across really fast.

Sometimes and this is what kills me, it would fly straight up and I would be holding up back and away from danger if I make a bad read…I’ll keep working on it but it’s gotten pretty random sometimes…

OK … what input are you doing first? second, you have to hold back or forward during the animation… so lets just say for example, your on the ground, you would do 89621478963 then he will do it low to ground and as soon as the animation starts hold forward or back

I’ve done it as 6321478963214789 and it still stay low and slow to the ground :[. Do I have to start it with 8? I usually start at 6 or 2 and go clockwise…

Do I hold Back or forward during the animation, then up forward or up back afterwards?

If you Want to go higher you need to delay the kkk if you do it too soon you stay low. Delay the kkk and you will go higher. The input before doesn’t matter as long as you have a 720 buffered before the jumping frames.

So delay the KKK if you’re reading a jump or a dp.

can some one explain the invincibility of Lariat for me? I know the kicks version has lower body invincibility but I often get beat out when some one jumps in and I do the hands Lariat. It’s supposed to be a great anti-air. Steve H told be that I’m supposed to crouch before doing hands lariat and that that some how punishes jump ins better. I’d like to know the mechanics behind it though and why it works.

So if you start crouching and then hit ppp when your opponent is in the lariet space the hit box of your lariet move does an instant pop above your hurt box this allows you to trade with or beat most jump in attacks. Only works with ppp kkk doesn’t have the same aa properties.

I have downloaded AE and now been playing Super again and had a question about Gief EX green hand. It doesnt knock down which is cool but what can you do? It appears that gief cant input another move and have to wait until the player recovers which kills me. What do you guys do after a hit with the EX gh?

Wait and block/bait a reversal out;
SPD if they tend to not move after it;
st.lp, cr.lp, cr.lk, st.mp confirmable in to the next EX GH (this series will stop jumps as well);
U2 to catch backdashes and jumps.

Simply it’s a series of reading your opponent and his tendencies and making calculated predictions. Just be smart about it.

Thanks I appreciate the info. Gief is still a beast and the only time I have trouble is with a dahslim player or akuma.

are there any shortcuts for the 360?? i almost break my stick perfoming a grapple lol
and if i do 360 i always jump :x

:b::db::d::df::f::uf: will work as 360 without jumping if you input the punch or kick button simultaniously with the forward-up directional input. Also it does not matter which way round you do it. Also do not worry about your stick as much :wink:

I know it has been asked before, but is an arcade stick much better?, it seems like almost all the players that I see in tournaments or in youtube videos have one.

Got a question about Gief links. I have been trying to pick up Gief, and I seem to be having issues with his basic BNB/hit confirming combos. Are these combos one frame?

Anyone able to tell me the input motions and what time i should be doing them? I can get the links but I cant seem to cancel to the EX GH

Do the input for the exgh during the lk and then hit pp if you get nothing you hit pp to fast.
