If it does, then this become quite useful after landing a CH sweep on characters with no reversals.
Also, I wish people would start recording stuff with quickrise turned on.

Pretty sure it does, I forgot but iirc I was doing it in the beta (and it should count as a strike since you can combo into it, but that may be only during hitstun so idk.) It hitting chars on wakeup I guess could be used as a mixup, either jump normal or EX SPD, but only after HKD and I have a feeling wakeup normal would get around the SPD at least.
Hmm, backdash is supposed to be throw invincible, but if EX Air SPD works as a throw and a strike then it should work indeed.
A pretty strong option then, since EX Air SPD will only lose to reversals and high block, but blocking high on wakep is such an uncommon and risky thing to do.
In beta 3 it did. I was using that to catch people back dashing.
In most games back dashes are airborne which is why they are invincible to ground throws, but if that is the same that of course means they are prey for the air SPD.
Are backdashes in SFV airborne on the first frame tho?
I remember staying grounded when I tried to backdash in Beta 2.

If they’re grounded at the start, then I don’t think the EX Air SPD will work on wakeup backdashes since u need to hit it meaty…
Mika had the same shit with quick rise and rolls but it got patched out.

So that crouching glitch either was taking out or crack only. EX air SPD doesn’t work on crouch wakeup anymore. You can still air SPD them when they backdash though. Tested it with Mika as well doesn’t work with her air grab special either. That huge punish after blocking a DP doesn’t work with V-Trigger activation only if you already have it active. The S.MP xx V-trigger doesn’t combo I mean unless it’s already active.
Might be old news I but was giving my Day 1 Gief a spin during the Beta today and noticed game has a pretty lenient buffer/partition window for Super. Not quite as free as 3s but abuse-able as Gief unlike 3s Hugo can combo into 720. Because meaties seem to work better than in SF4 you can do meaty cr.mp buffer 360 and wait to confirm, if it hits do another 360+p for Super if not, do nothing.

Are you serious? I’ve been geeking out about how cool I think Zangief’s/Mika’s new costume is. Maybe I’m just bias cuz I hated his sf4 alts so much that I just preferred his default.
I still love the SFIV mecha gief costume, even had the metal sounds when he moved.
