When I played on a pad with Zangief in IV (nowadays with stick), I always used from “3 to 11” clockwise motion on d-pad / analog stick, whether I was playing from left to right or vice versa. I also found helpful that when I was using the motion, I made sure to press 10-11 (clockwise) directions extra hard while pushing the button and It may sound stupid and explanation may sound confusing, but I hope you get the point.
It’s just about practice, trust me. I used Xbox 360 pad with Zangief so I can know your pain but it’ll get better. If you although want to spend some money, get branded Fightpad or for instance Sega Saturn controller with adapter (it has great d-pad). Arcade stick is of course one option, though it’s tricky to start.
Feels Like I can only do the SPD if I slowly roll my thumb across the D-pad. Otherwise I’m either missing the input or do it too fast and I accidentally jump instead. Same with Air SPD
Yeah I was going to try that MadCatz Fightpad Pro they announced recently, never had a Fightpad before so might as well try one with SF5 since PS4 is going to be my main console for fighters (MKX, GG, BB, SF, T7, KOF) and I don’t play as much on PS3 (MK9 and KOF13 online are dead and it’s not fun playing alone all the time in those games, especially when you suck, and TTT2 will soon die anyway due to T7), so no point in buying a Fightpad for that
Eventscrubs and Capcomunity crying out for Zangief nerfs, it’s always the same, why want everyone the grapplers instantly nerfed ? I hate all those people, they think they can say who is OP and who is weak in 5 matches of gameplay.
