Just tried it out a bunch more times and yea it was only working on a block, I could have sworn that it all connected but Im probably wrong
sorry this may be offenciv but its like hearing apes talk about niche
KKK larit =knockdown
SPD= WORKS NOT ON STUN EITHER HIT/BLOCK/ OR Jumpframes(althou prejump)
on hit the opponend would be knocktdown or in a stunstate if not he can reakt its IMPOSIBBLE thats it no more no less impossible to connect a spd wihtout crumble or dizzy…
Maybe he found a way to OTG?
…nah…
there is allways room for glitches but combing spd and throwing after a knockdown hit? nah…
Fierce splash, crouching lk, far standing mp, crouching lk xx ex hand
why isn’t this combo seen more often after a xup splash? is it a one frame link?
That combo seems sort of quirky to do for some reason. Does Lk really connect after the far MP?
It connects. You can also connect a s.lk after s.mp. But I find it a lot tougher to execute than the bnb combo.
lk only connects when mp hit was counter hit, meaning mp was hit when other guy was doing attack. only then, lk or lp will connect.
in main sf4 thread, ppl are talking about kara-link or whateva you wanna call it.
read their thread if you want to really understand
but for gief’s application, ueses are this…
crlk > crlk > ex hand
here between each crlk, input window is only by 1 frame, but if you do it as following, input window becomes 2 frame and thus you have better chance on linking successfully.
crlk > cr lk+lp > ex hand
lk+lp should really be lk then to lp while lk still be held down and lp right after lk pressed.
also, you probably want to do ex hand with mp+hp while you are still holding down lk+lp to do it fast instead of releasing lp and then lp+mp.
master this, very strong combo, many oppotunities.
you can check to see if 1st lk hit or not so if it got blocked, you can stop before ex hand.
after spd, you can get close with lp ghand, then choice of
spd if opp was just staying put,
crlk combo if opp was about to jump,
block if opp was doing attack with invincibility, etc etc.
this friday is the release of sf4 updates! with tournament mode and disconnection rating.
actualy this do not help give at all since lk lp are allways CANCEL and LINKABLE those tip only apply for ONLY LINKS! therefore doubletap or any other version of it would just cancel OR link and therefore it would be a bad habbit!
I was going to ask about meter-less combos as after cracking some defenses I often am dry or almost there, but I think you just fed me a good idea :wonder: thanx. I mean I tick when I can though I’ve dropped it ALOT in SF4 compared to St/HDR, but it would be a good alternative.
I’m still stuck on his last challenge, I can’t even combo three c.lk
- :bluu:
- :bluu:
only lp is cancellable, not lp.
get your shit straight.
if you are saying lk is canceable, i bet you can’t do cr lk lk lk combos
i mean lp is cancable into lk the combo lk,lk,lk-greenhand are in my opinion not so good as the lp,lp,lk,exhand (a bit less damage but much more possibilitys to tickthrow AND much easyer to execute + you can change it to lp lp lk standing lp mp
if there is no meter and ultra david althou mentioned in his first post some advices why he think lklklk is not as good as lplplk as faar as i remember
here is wath i mean
Quote from ultradavid:
So about the crouching jabs v crouching shorts in Gief’s green hand combos, only start using short after you’ve confirmed that the combo is hitting. Crouching short doesn’t do enough block stun to link into itself in a tight constant-blockstun way, meaning that your opponent can dp/whatever through your blocked crouching shorts. Crouching jab doesn’t have this problem because it can be chained into itself. So say you’re doing crossup into green hand combo, do fierce splash/short knees, crouching jab, verify whether the combo is hitting (or do a second crouching jab if you need the extra time to verify), and then do crouching short etc into ex green hand.
damage wise, cr lk > cr lp.
also cr lk has longer reach than cr lp
if you link cr lk x2 properly, you can check hit/block before executing ex green.
also cr lk can counter certain moves such as chun li’s standing hk.
green hand command then lk~lp+mp will execute ex green hand combo only when lk is hit/block and only lk comes out if it does not get hit/block.
lk has its use, and being able to do link with lk does improve your chance of winning.
gief also has short jump which no other character has, so thats a plus when doing kara jump into spd or ultra
the lk like mentioned above is no true blockstring try it against a other gief and he will trow you out of it AND this counts althou for srks…
c.LP;c.LP;c.LK xx Greenhand is much better and its only 18 dmg less take a look on the framedata
c,Lp Startup 4 +4(on block) +4 (on hit) CANCEL INTO ITSELF! since the recovery is shortened becouse of the cancel its a real blockstring
c.LK Startup 3 +1(on block) +4 (on hit) LINK INTO ITSELF ON HIT!! no real blockstring only -2 on block = high risk if anybody knows it
therefore its no real blockstring and every reversal with invul on startup will hit you for free with big damaging moves or ultra possibilitys…
-srk’s
-ExMessiahs
-ExGreenhand
-SPD
-Abels EXThrow
-ExOshio(do not know if it has invul)
-Vipers EX-Seismo
the thing is Itabashi Zangief is one amazing pig of a Giefplayer and i think he use the combo is becouse he hitconfirm it just after the Splash
so if you can hitconfirm just after the splash use it if not (like almost any normal human beeing) start with at least 1-2 jabs till you hitconfirm it and then use c.Shorts
if you hafe problem with cancel to link timing (wath is truely a pain in the ass) try this with a square gate
Hold :db:c.Lp c.Lp Move your stick AFTER th last c.LP :d::df: ; :d::df: cLK; :2p: this make it easyer since the two forwards take enugh time for the linking its a “new” srk motion by the way where you do not need to stand … (this makes mixups with blocking low for keeping guys away from srking out useless by the way…)
i actualy think the 3 c.LKs are a easyer combo since there is always the same timing but its punishable on block … record the combo in testmode… test it on hit and NOW block it and start mashing a EX-Greenhand(since the timing is only 2 frames its hard to hit the window at first) but you will see it for yourself that you CAN punish the kicks
sad that ultradavid is morelikely now a Dalsim player his Gief advices and findings where awsome and its a shame…
curse on you dalsim may all your limbs fall off
Anyone who says they did the lvl 5 hard trial for Gief is lying. Its not physically possible. I dont’ believe you =P
I’m struggling just to combo more than 3 c.lk let alone 4 let alone 4 into EX GH. I can do the jump-in, c.lk x3. I’ve done c.lkx2, EX GH, but putting it all together is painful.
- :bluu:
This is actually a very easy trial compared to other ones man. You just can’t be spamming cr.lk. They’re all spaced out evenly and on the last one, you buffer the EX GH. Just get the timing between the lk’s. I’m guessing you haven’t tried any of Viper’s trials or Ken 4-5 or Gen trials.
Just do plinking then.
The combo really becomes something like this:
Jumping down +lk (knees), cr. lp+lk x 4, ex greenhand.
From the transition from the last cr. lp+lk, I hold down forward and do a fireball motion to get my ex greenhand.
Also, remember, plinking is like karaing. You press the lp slightly before the lk. There, have fun.
Edit: Also, if for some reason plinking doesn’t work for you, I find that using my pointer finger (rather than my thumb) to do the combo is just as easy.
I thought you’d have to hit the lk first before lp to plink. And I find linking easier without plinking. You just have to get the timing down. I don’t find myself getting combos any more consistent with plinking than by just hitting the buttons individually. And some times, the wrong moves comes out when I plink. Like Ryu’s F+HP, cr.lp. When I plink that, it doesn’t come out any more than if I just pressed lp by itself. Some times, I’d get mp instead of lp because I’m plinking lp+mp.
Oh, that’s right. The first has to be a cr. lk first, then you can plink the rest. This is not a good start to a day where I have a midterm. Also, my fire alarm went off. :shake:
