Any body else having trouble playing “ecc9_jmar_eddie_lee.wmv”? It plays fine for about 30 seconds or so, but then it crashes the player (both WMP and VLC).
No… Try ususing BSPLAYER/MediaPlayerClassic or getting more codecs
^-- NO. Codecs are one-to-one. Getting “more codecs” doesn’t make any sense, actually, and will more likely screw things up. He HAS the right codec and does NOT need a new one.

Well, I shouldn’t say it crashes the player. Rather, it plays fine for a moment, then suddenly says “Windows Media Player can not play the file because it is corrupted.” I tried upgrading to WMP10, but that didn’t help. :sad:
^-- I ran ASFView over the file downloaded from my site and it checks out perfectly. So the assumption would be that you have a ‘download acceleration’ program or something else screwing up your download. If you save it to disk first, it should work fine. If not, PM me or hit me up on mail/whatever.
EDIT: Google Desktop apparently screws up downloads/connectivity sometimes too, but I don’t think it would affect this case.

Hrm…I just downloaded it normally using Firefox, and I don’t use Google Desktop. I also tried playing it with BSPlayer, but same thing happens. I’ll try downloading it again…maybe something went awry during the download.

I had problems with the Viscant VS Zaza matches, downloaded normaly with Firefox, but the video only played for 3 seconds, and then froze, but the audio continued until end.
Someone else said they got them fine, I guess it’s just my Firefox or something.
^-- x2 The Avalanches are playing at SxS this year, so I’m thinking pretty hard about it. Since that’s the week before (?) I may be there for a week this time, starting in Austin of course. So … probably a 75% chance at this point.
^-- x1 Yeah, Firefox: YMMV. If you try it with both IE and Firefox and you’ve got problems, that’d be different. When Firefox hits 2.x I’ll be more interested in it and pay more attention. To be clear, that’s not anti-FF prejudice, it’s that historically the Mozilla browser set (going allllllllllllllll the way back to NCSA Mosaic) has bumped around how everything works every point release or so, so … by the time they get to 2.0 again I’ll feel more confident that if I bother to fix/figure stuff out for FF, they won’t change what they’re doing and break me again. The Netscape 4.0x series was a horror. :sad: Anyways: yeah, if FF 1.x doesn’t work, try IE for that.
