It’s an in-game-macro-allowed rule brought in I believe by the Guilty Gear players(?). So yes, it’s explicitly allowed by the Evo rules. I hate it: I watched Jaminis get raped because the buttons were swapped around. I hate all button remappings: Marvel is too quick and you might not ever have a chance to figure out that the buttons were swapped. If I were Marvel God if you forgot to remap the buttons to Default after you mapped them, you would either forfeit your last match or be DQ’d from your next one. So painful to watch good matches come to a halt due to “wait the buttons are mismapped again”. :sad:
If I had made it to Evo last year (couldn’t, brother’s wedding) and played Fanatiq again I was initially going to pick a Tron/Tron/Tron team, but then saw in the rules that they actually DO ban picking the same character repeatedly in Marvel. But Loren, that was my plan. I figured it’d crack you up.
