BTW, much much props to all those that record and upload footages. Now I know how involved (proper equipment, PC spec requirements, etc) and time consuming (encoding, editing, uploading, etc) this stuff really is.:looney:

2: They’re all captured, encoded, and even uploaded now. But since Fugee still hasn’t received the special footage (UPS fucked up, hopefully not critically), the trickle-out daily release give him the time to do his thang and yet should still keep people with a steady flow of footage until he finishes up.
So yeah, I’m done here, but I’ve got some reasons to release things this way. I figure it’s a pretty good compromise. :tup:

When I say that FlashGet is a malicious and buggy piece of shit, I mean it. If I had a bandwidth cap that guy would have broken my site. :tup: Boy, it sure would be mean for people to tell other people to use FlashGet (looks pointedly at MJ’s horrible advice on GFB…).
Bear in mind that this is with my mitigated download filter which blocks HTTP resumes. FlashGet literally downloaded the same file in full 5,089 times because it’s a broken piece of fucking shit that is fucking malware that fucks servers up the ass.
edit: Partially inspired by this, I finally am moving towards a meaningful solution on bandwidth hogs. Hopefully nobody notices what I’m about to do because it could be bad if it goes wrong. crosses fingers
edit2: Holy crap that worked. OK, I just finished upgrading the server OS four major versions and everything seems fine. I’ll cross my fingers that nothing goes wrong, but it looks like things should be easier to work with now.

I just found out the hard way through FlashGet fucking my server and getting me banned from my old service provider that FlashGet is a malicious piece of shit. And it’s still hosing site speeds, which is why I’m doing Operation Omglol right now.
I have no recommendations in that area at all, sorry. =\
OK, I’ve installed mod_iplimitconn for chuckles to throttle unfair bandwidth grabbing by malicious FlashGet users. You get two downloads of video files at a time (which is pretty standard anyways). Accordingly, I reenabled Resumed downloads so that’ll be a net win for everybody. We’ll see how it shakes out. I may find a better solution, but this at least puts everybody on fairer footing.
