I guess I’ve been banned from the site for using a download helper or accelerator. The thing is, I don’t know what either of those are? All I’ve been using is Firefox and have been watching the streaming videos and have only downloaded one or two videos, I think. Can anyone tell me what the download accelerator is, and if there is any way I can get unbanned?

I’ve been banned too, but I don’t stream or anything. If you are using Bell sympatico I think he banned every IP from there.

Yes, I did attempt to ban sweeping IP sets from particularly abusive ranges where there were many instances of abuse from those providers. I’ll rescind most of those wide-ranging blocks in a couple weeks once the culprits from those blocks will have had a chance to notice that they’re going to cause problems if they don’t get their act together.
The downside of quadrupling the site size is that it will be that much easier for morons to REALLY mess things up. This is why I’m seriously considering having any link from MJ’s site (GFB news) take you to a giant flashing banner saying how much I hate him for telling people on that site to use download helpers such as FlashGet.
Please keep any bannination discussions to PM so I can deal with it appropriately.
