Also, it will make it easier to see what kind of videos are needed. As of right now, I don’t have any good videos of matchups against seths, gens, or dans where both opponents seem good. Combo video with usable combos. As in non- “combo videoist” combos where all that is done is push out 3 more points out of damage scaling, although the very last one is like that. It focuses on knife combos. Found it on gamerhold.

first AND second round vega was near death. ultra 2 chip him away!
zonk is one of the best tools against vega. you can beat barcelona with it and punish the other dive. also normaly it’s your best poke tool against vegas long range stuff, but your opp was way too scared and overwhelmed by your rushdown.

Nice videos; as a newer Cody user I like to see how others play and get some ideas.
It looks like you use the Zonk and ex-Zonk quite a bit. This is something I need to add into my play; its a bit awkward to hold down a button sometimes…
It looks like you hold HP based on your moves/combos; do you hold it always, or just when you anticipate using it? I’m curious as to what others do as well.

Imo, zonk is one of cody’s most important tools, it can be weird at first but you’ll get used to it. I use it based on anticipation. I used to use balrog in vanilla, so in a way balrogs turn punch is somewhat similar to codys zonk knuckle only just holding one punch button. Also, those videos I posted awhile ago suck, imo. My block strings had no mixup whatsoever. ._.
I always get hit low then I try to Zonk or it just gets blocked
yeah I did notice the same ones over and over, but the main thing I got from the video is the importance of applying the pressure and rushdown. I always thought of Cody as a reactive/punish character but this changes everything. (its taken me a while to read through the 35+ combo threads)
I started using the f+mp a lot last night and got random CHs. It definately seems like enough time to do some damage and reading up shows the f+mp is +6 on hit and CH adds +3. I cannot do 1 frame combos reliably enough and play mostly online; therefore I’m thinking the next best thing after a f+mp CH would be cl.HP xx whatever, no?

Hey guys, I’m an avid Cody player, maining him from the start but just now got around to uploading some of my matches with him on PSN and etc.
This current set of vids is from a set I had with HAV earlier against his Dudley/Abel/Ryu. He’s pretty good so using Cody and winning felt really good haha. Various setups, mixups and strategies I’ve learned from here and Ryan Hunter/Sabr3 (my heros!!) vids really helped me alot with this character so I thought I’d try and show my progress.
