ok, so why the hell does any character have + frames on block after a special move? I was playing a yun recently and I feel like I have no options after the ex dash punch other than back dash and he can still deal with that.
There’s quite a few character with specials that end up plus on block.
Cody EX rocks some a frametrap situation leave him at +11 or something like that.
Yun new EX Lunge is good, no doubt about it, but it’s a slow start up, close to 20 frames. If you know it’s coming it’s easy to beat with a stMP poke, or a stLP even.
Don’t forget his DP is throwable now, and most Yun aren’t aware of that. EX Karakusa after EX Lunge punch would beat everything beside jumping, backdashing or EX DP.
My top 10 worst personal match ups. Sometimes I think I hate these characters enough to want to sub one. (Though, my only sub gets no love anyway.)
- Dee Jay- I’m free vs him. Whenever he is applying pressure, I have no idea what to do. I feel like the whole match is a struggle to get the knockdown. Also find it hard to approach him.
- T Hawk- Keeping him out, and taking small bits of damage from him just never seems to be enough. I usually mess up and get caught eventually. I do find it useful to surprise him a few times with trying to get in and Karakusa…but if that fails, gg.
rest no order:
Rog- Slowly getting better at this match up. Idk…I just hate him.
Bison-Slowly getting better at this match up. Mistakes kill me though.
Honda-Don’t know how to deal with him.
Blanka- I just screw up with his gimmicks on offense. Still getting used to fighting him, and slowly progressing.
Gief- Same as T hawk, but easier for me to read him.
DAN- When he gets in is when I start to worry.
Oni- Getting knocked down by him leaves me drawing blanks. It’s a guessing game to me.
Rufus- I just plain don’t know the match up, since I’ve never run into many Rufus players.
A couple months ago, I’d have put Sakura and Juri on there. Despite them being annoying, I don’t think I’m as free to them.
Treat DJ like Guile, but once you get a knckdown, always go for a meaty low profile move like crMP or crMK, or even oroshi. He has nothing against it. Just keep yourself close to him and dominate him with normals.
Once you realize he actually has nothing to retaliate with at that range, he’s really easy to beat.
Just don’t be impatient, jumping over fireball and eating crHK all day. That’s what they want you to do. Just walk them slowly into the corner, slowly get in. This match up can be boring, but stray up normal vs normal battles always make you win.
When he’s trying to play offence, don’t panic. He has no overhead, no frametrap game. His only mix up is based around the Knee Shot. If he goes for a cross up at the wrong time, Fukiage blow up him. Don’t use Fuki against the Knee, either just block then get out with a focus backdash, or try to anti air crMK early.
