I’ve taken it upon myself to just learn Chun to deal with the bs. I want corner options and easy hit confirms for the footsie characters.
Also MuralTag’s Ken in the corner is the nightmare of nightmares.

I blow dick, so I hate every match up.
Duralath is right. I know it sounds obvious but if you are getting owned by dash grab then don’t stand in perfect dash grab range.
(´・_・`)
Bigger problem with Dash and Grab online tactics is if you’re dealing with a Ken with SA loaded. You know they’re waiting at that mid-screen distance just waiting, waiting to parry/punish with SA3 and the instant you’re like “Okay, I’m not falling for your bullshit, I’m just going to walk in and push you towards the corner” and bam… Dash in Lowfoward Super or dash and throw…
Fuck online.
Online:
You can’t dash grab! Only I can do that!!
Some Kens leave out the low forward and only dash grab.
Dash in grab is minor league stuff. Big dogs use Urien headbutt throw online. Full helmet wearing retarded.
Fuck Yang.
non scrubby ryu players are kinda scary…sometimes:arazz:
Hai, Hai, HAI.
Ha.
HaiHai…HaiHaiHAI.
Urien, Makoto, and rushdown Ryu. Also, when I see Blackuma I know I’m in for trouble.
Online Denjin Ryu, and any Decent Chun.
And this should go without saying, but… any Gill player that knows what they’re doing.
2frame crouching roundhouse that you can combo off of in the corner! GOTDAMN
That guy unlocked dipswitches for more gill combos yo.
I play Alex, so…
Everyone who is in the top third of the cast.
yang.
really anyone. but i hate yang.
Yun, all day. He is so free, everything about that character annoys me. Capcom had to have known the effectiveness of Genei Jin when they were testing. It can’t not be noticed.
A competent Ibuki is scary too, but they are usually trigger happy with offense so one good parry can turn it around (in my experience). If I’m not prepared I just give the match to them on a platter.
Sometimes it just takes a while for something really game-changing to be discovered.
Everyone was playing Sourai Rengeki in the beginning. [S]Mester was playing SA2 during the Japan vs US 5v5 in 2000, so there’s that for you[/S]. It wasn’t until maybe 2001 that more people started playing Geneijin, and it took another year before it was introduced to a bigger American audience at Evo.
EDIT: Ahhh, you’re right. I checked Mester vs Hsien and he was using Geneijin. My mistake.

mester used geneijin vs hsien chang gouki at the 5v5 in 2000, but sa2 against everyone else.
When I first started playing the game, totally new to everything, I tried using Genei-Jin and it was just “that kinda custom combo super”. I never gave it much thought and totally dismissed it. Same with aegis. I initially thought it was some kind of defensive move. “Oh, its a pink wall that does nothing?”, little did I know it was one of the most frightening supers in the game! All the pieces were there, I just couldn’t figure out how to apply it properly until I saw it in action.
Years and years ago this pool hall I went to had a 3rd Strike cab, a couple good Urien players, they used SA1! It seems weird looking back on it.
That’s almost exactly what I thought back then. I learned early on that Geneijin was monstrous thanks to KO Yun in Evo2K3, but Aegis I learn more and more about it every year. I learned about the unblockables and whatnot, but as I got better I started seeing just how integral Aegis was for Urien’s offense in greater detail. Not to mention it showed me just how ass Urien is without it*. lol
*I still use Tyrant Slaughter from time to time, though. Helps me keep up my defensive game.
