Wow. That’s pretty cool. What impeccable timing. 
It’s all good though. Maybe I’d be sad if the price was the same as the regular Videomic, but it seems like online stores are putting it up for $230ish, an $80 jump from what I paid. I was way beyond my budget with the regular Videomic anyway. :looney:
Also, I use a Canon 7D, which has the Automatic Gain Control problem. No firmware has been released to allow the user to disable it. I’m using a hack (with adapters) to somewhat bypass the AGC, and it does give me a more decent and clear sound, but still won’t bring out the full potential of any mic.
You can say this is just a temp mic for me to play or practice with. Someday I’ll go for a more professional microphone (with external recorder) setup. Right now I can get by with some post-processing. I need to learn how to master sound anyway.
That’s why I record externally. I have a 5Dmk2 and even with the agc functions, doesn’t sound as crisp as an external recorder. That should be your next purchase for sure. Easy to sync audio too.
My girlfriend’s PC stopped POSTing and I identified the problem was caused by her RAM (Crucial Ballistix) going bad. She is using my spares at the moment and I placed her an order for some Kingston ValueRAM.

It is definitely on my list of things to get. Do you recommend any particular models for microphones and recorders?
Getting more gear is going to be a long, painstaking process for me. I still want so many things, such as: a full-frame DSLR, strobes and lighting equipment for photog, video production gear, monitor speakers/headphones, MIDI controllers (pads, keyboard), and so much more.
By the way, I saw your works on your homepage/portfolio. You are living my dream! :sad: I’m gonna try hard to step my game up. I’m super interested in learning all aspects of multimedia: photography, graphics, web development, audio, music production/performance, video recording, video motion design, etc.
