Yeah, if Saki was in the arcade we’ll get more info about her “cheapness”.
But for now let’s jingle!

I’m pretty sure you’re better in a game I don’t play and don’t really care about.
Chances are I’d beat you 10 out of 10 times in KOF 2002 UM with random select.
Chances are you don’t care either.
Difference being, you won’t hear me whining about “ohhhh mid-tier character X is so boring and hard to beat”.
As was mentioned, Saki has HUGE blindspots that prevent her from being very good.
I just find it ridiculous that you object so much to her existence and gameplay style.
It’s like complaining about Iceman in MvC2 when fucking Cable and Magneto are in the game. Guess what? Cable doesn’t have blindspots like Saki does.
First off, everybody knows your character type are little girls you can mash buttons with. Let’s be honest here.
Secondly, I don’t understand because “cool” and “boring” are highly subjective terms.
Personally, I find Karas, Ryu, and Chun boring as hell. Loops, infinites, and relaunching into the same fucking Level 3 air combo bores the everloving piss out of me.
To others, that’s the whole appeal of the game.
Growing up with a background in Super Turbo and Vs. games, I find zoning and spacing to be interesting. Once again, that’s me.
First off, she’s not mid tier, she’s high imo. Obviously that’s debatable, but you’re not going to be able to debate it cuz you don’t play this fucking game. Secondly, comparing TvC to Marvel like that is a moot point. It’s a different fucking game. The game is slower, you can use assists less often, and they don’t cover space as well as marvel, so it takes more effort to get around a good zoning game. Also, wtf, where are the “HUGE” blindspots. Behind her? Super jump? That’s an awesome way to get in…
Here’s the real difference though. You don’t see me roll into the KoF forums and talk some shit about the things you say about your game. Why? Because you play it and I don’t, so you know better than me. So do us all a favor and fuck off.
lmao
this is sig worthy.
Saki is high tier, no doubt about it. And it all revolves around that unblockable shot. Unscaled combos, Unblockable VCs, Unblockable bullet combo chain, etc. Keep away characters are nothing new in fighting games, but an unblockable 15k bullet chain? Unblockable VC with Tekkaman for 30k? Definitely tops the chart.
But when you say “not fun” you really mean not fun for YOU to play against. Doesn’t really reference the person playing Saki, that’s all subjective, etc. EX: People have always told me that they thought Jin from Blazblue was “not fun”, “boring”, “typical”, etc. But I have so much fun playing Jin (CH DP into an ice arrow LoZ-style, how is that not cool?) that I don’t quite get it… so in the future, please be more specific about the fun factor of games for you and the opponent. I HATE fighting Cable in MvC2 but I know that other bastard enjoys frying me with Vipers from the other side of the screen.
Kinda late, but I only gave minor attention to this game till Viewtiful Joe was announced. I was hyped after that. The original Viewtiful Joe game was (in my opinion) one of the decade’s best games, and team Viewtiful/Platinum games best.
Another character I found cool was Gold Lightan. While I didnt care much for his show, I’m a super robot junkie, plus his design was pretty badass( Gold robot? Sweet!).
I’ve always been drawn to the Mega Man characters. I didn’t know who else besides Mega Man Trigger I was going to play…until I saw an old friend (Roll). Badda bing, badda boom, the Blue Bombah Squad is back n’ business!
Bada bing, bada broom.
