I’m a sucker for sax in fighting game theme songs.
The background music from that new stage in Skullgirls Encore, creepy as heck.
At first, this background theme seem out of place for the game, but after playing on the stage multiple times, it just grow on me. The climax of theme is the best part. #Kreygasm
i’m ashamed over the fact that i’m the first one to post either of these

Haven’t played this game but this track was used in a combo vid I saw. I’ve been playing it constantly since finding the source.

I like making and giving out mix cd’s of fighting game theme songs, so thanks to everyone whos posted in here!
Maybe we should start posting why we like the songs we post like someone above stated.
One song thats been hitting a chord with me (git et is Guy’s Alpha 2 theme, it really reminds me of the area of town I live near. Just has that inner-city wrong side of town at night vibe to it.
i tend to like smooth music on fighting games…didnt want to make a super long list so i cut it to 5…
Doctine Dark from Street Fighter EX 3
just as jazzy as you can get…the bass synths remind me of 80’s music…
Skullgirls - Maplecrest
one of the most unique tracks for a fighting game I’ve ever heard…they went so far left with the energy, that its perfect…it matches the locale so well, its just so peaceful…and the “La La’s” just set it off…)
Cammy HD Remix Theme
such a dope, smooth hip hop/downbeat track…it just seriously puts me in my mode…I can just space out to this…
Rose Alpha 3
something about the instrument in the beginning bars (still dont know what it is…a sitar?) anywho, yeah, i like that…its relaxing…
CvS 2 True Love Were Making
I love dance music, and when I first heard this song, I just couldnt believe it was actually a fighting game song…this could have seriously been a dance hit IMO…its just so hype and it contrasts perfectly with the action of a CvS match…
SF 3 Second Impact has such an amazing soundtrack, check it out guys!
Botchamania does a lot of video game music in their episodes, its funny when Im watching them as I practice and then a song comes on from the fighting game Im training in.
This ones Fatal Fury Special

SF Alpha 2/3

Super Turbo

King of Fighters

I really like music that can help me feel the game setting and have tone that matches the situation. Its one of the reason I usually like boss battle music, their easy to identified with epic or ominous tone. But I do manage find Character/stage themes that can do the same.
This track just makes me feel I’m in the world of last bade. A subtle and yet engaging world.
last blade 1

last blade 2

another is from Rage of dragon.
While I do like all tracks yet at times Im left wondering why some track were put in. Its not the ones I’m concern about are bad tracks but they don’t seem to help set the games tone.
ROTD is simply another world where brawling is the norm and most time a spectator sports.

This track sound eventful with bit cultural tone maybe
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sqU3V9dNmNE
http://network.mugenguild.com/guild/stages/rotd_cassandra&onibg.gif
sounds intense and s struggle is going.
another nice track but has the issue is not fitting into ROTD world
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RBIwqiJATcw
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=toP0HbhVRzQ
doesn’t sound like a fighting game theme at all.
then again I’m not going to say that the last two music don’t have their places, but they probably would have gotten more attention in another game.
God Rugals theme in CvS2 is pretty cool
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VVp3meI7TDs
I also like Bison’s theme from Alpha 3
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QuM8eAoMoGQ
I listened to the TTT2 soundtrack, its…loooooong and weirrrrd. Some great cool songs, some lame ones and some horrible ones.
Arc system works really should salvage some music from Isuka.
23 _ DEATH SIMPERS AT AN EXIT: http://youtu.be/IkiAiA5dpuM
@keo-bas i really agree with your impressions. But this track is just the most funk around
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRG2sF1KEK8
I should mention too power instinct 5 (matrimelee). It deliberately goes for the most unconventional thing in fighting games (enka), with funny lyrics. Really avant grade for the time, and even for today.
Prey for Death was a bad game but it had an amazing CD quality OST in 1995
Too bad there isnt an available list on Youtube yet.
I still have the CD.
when I first saw Arcana Heart 2 in a video, it might have been in an exposition/loketest or something of that sort, the players didn’t seem to be experienced (or have a purpose behind their actions) and then I wasn’t interested in the game. Until seeing, some time later, a match video (with two Mei-Fangs, forgot where the link is and what their arcanas were) which had an intense match, and the stage was Petra’s, and the bgm was this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c-jFM_YbgQQ
After hearing that there was an AH3 game (somewhere around 2011/2012), I decided that I would get a japanese Xbox 360 to play it, along with Cave shmups, even though I can’t read japanese. But then, I got to play the game (in the middle of 2012) in PS3 (which had english texts) and decided that I would buy both consoles. Yes, I can say “AH made me do it”
The game felt fast-paced, and I left my friend’s house remembering this one BGM:

(and rushed to the wiki page in order to know more about the arcana effects, characters, etc.)
