But anyway, all hail the VF2 soundtrack. Just about every track is EXCELLENT! (sorry). From the intro theme all the way to the name entry theme. Just a complete masterpiece all-around.

Nice, I forgot about Michelle, Law and Lei. However, I could never get into Kazuya’s theme. That and Akira’s Theme in VF2 is Godlike.

Alot of the EX 2 and 3 stages sounded like stuff you’d hear at at magic show or circus thing or something. Move and Burry Home especially. To his credit, Shinji Hosoe knew what he was doing on ANY soundtrack. His remixes to the original 12 SF characters is quite sound.
I can get links later.

Funnily enough you can mix them together for a real stupid dope mix.

EDIT: Best character select theme ever.

3rd strike id say has the best over all sound track to a fighting game.
Chaos Code is pretty popular at ufo, heres my favorite song. It has a good soundtrack over all.
And this song alone makes me want to play Tekken

This shit fits him too well.
3S soundtrack is so fucking overrated, every fucking song sounds like Cypress Hill.
Is there an expression like weaboo for people that are like that about American black people?
With some exceptions the soundtrack of 3S is horrible, like just as bad as Oni’s dubstep version of the Akuma theme in SF4.
Here’s my favorites:

SF4 and Alpha 2 all the way in terms of SF music.
Sorry but in terms of SFs, SF2 trumps all. Each stage theme perfectly fits the character it represents, both in reflecting the characters’ ethnicity as well as the character’s personality. Listen to the percussion of Blanka’s theme, the heavy rock guitars of Ken’s theme, or the sitars present in Dhalsim’s theme. The pentatonic scales employed in Chun Li’s theme or the showgirl inspired music of Balrog’s theme. Music also speeds up when one player’s health is low adding more tension.

Sure SF2 is amazing and has great tracks but hell I’ve listened to them soooo many times and I love a lot of the remixes of Alpha 2 and SF4.
Guiles theme is so bland it literally goes with anything, nuff said about that soundtrack. Cammy’s theme is great though.
3rd Strike has a very distinct soundtrack and is very different from other Capcom fighting game soundtracks.
- ^ it’s different because it was inconsistent. Capcom has a funny way of breaking consistency with their third iterations on this front. Alpha 3 is another title that slightly throws certain items away, too, music wise. III itself took out old school themes for all three returning fighters. Experimental, sure, but still not as nostalgic as it needs. SNK did the same with their 3s and RB titles, but both tracks make comebacks in KoF anyway.
Im not big on nostalgia as a big factor of if I like something still.
Last night Fubarduck busted out his Hugo, he was scary.
This thread could use some more Garou: Mark of the Wolves (3S’s just as awesome SNK Cousin.)
I wish I had gone to arcades when Garou came out, but now Im just depressed about Terry living in an abandoned rail car.

overreact much? when there’s a meme for Jazzy NYC goes with everything (please dont fucking start this), feel free to call us all wiggers, but SF3 is the only SF game that really has a rhythm centric soundtrack, so of course people who appreciate non riffy character themes will like it a lot. and lets be honest, most people just like the songs from their favorite games, and 3s was popular.
