Taki’s and Cammy’s costumes make sense, but their designs make them look like generic fodders.

I agree that female fighter designs aren’t catered to women at all. Seems almost like Capcom knows what kind of persons play their games…
Still there’s good character designs by women that appeal to girls, see Sailor Moon for example.

Seriously, these are some of the ugliest designs I’ve ever seen.
I find it strange that they didn’t redesign characters like Rose, B.B.Hood, Makoto, Hilde, Elizabeth, King, Nakoruru, Whip, etc. Almost as if there actually are characters out there for those that want conservatively dressed female characters.
Nah, that can’t be true. That doesn’t fit the narrative.

Most fighting games already have a diverse cast of male and female fighters for every kind of player. It is weird that she only wants to cherry pick and single out the sex positive ones and turn them into boring and uninspiring 12 year old cosplay rejects. The page even starts by hating on curvy body types, they all need to become 12 year olds so they look reasonable in her eyes.
And nothing for Gill/Urien, Sagat, Zangief… or the hundreds of other male fighters over the past 25 years that aren’t wearing much.
This is getting old. Which is exactly what this movement needs-- instant rolleyes at this BS, before they finish the first tap of the keyboard or breath of air.
According to here, male sexualization is male power fantasy, and female sexualization is objectification.
Including the numbers of “wait, that’s not a girl?” male characters in Japanese games? The Xenoblade guest character in Smash that looks like the houseguest of a rich Hollywood executive?
These are all terrible (and I’m someone that thinks DOA is overly sexualized).
Get an artist who actually understands fashion as well.
I actually prefer the redesign for Elena, makes her more memorable.
But can she still do Capoeira in those air resistant puffy pants?
It needs to be something that reflects east Africa not Asia.
