I’m definately a rush down kinda guy. Like to sucker people in with mind games too, the classic focus over a downed opponent to back dash and punish the whiffed wake up.
Managed to pull this combo off the other day which I was quite happy with:
Ex TKCS, TKCS, cr.hp, cr.mk xx h.SA
Still wokring on my stick technique though. Still got a few issues linking the h.SA after cr.lp/lp/lk and cr.lk/lp/lk
Aiming to get up to G1 before Super. about 1,500gp to go. I wanna play the better players as I’ll get better quicker (say what you will about this theory, but it works for me…)
Hm a hard question to answer for me but i will try.
I would describe my playstyle as aggressive defensive(kinda like iran taekwondo sportsmen) and on knockdown rushdown.
This means that i move towards the opponent but mostly do not engage before he does.
The reason for this is that cammy has no real safe specials/options.
options for getting the knockdown include:
*I would say hooligan throw is pretty important to me and i use it alot
either bait with the lp hooligan cancel or a mp/hp one to grab into mixup
*ex spiral arrow from time to time to get close
*short jumps from outside shoryuken distance with lk to bait dps.
*just outside sweep range and try to bait a fireball then jump over
*lk canon strike to bait.
*when they do a block string i usually air cs after 2 more hits for a combo or focus fireball punish
Once i get the knockdown i do one of the following things
*first couple times i usually bait reversals with a tiger knee canon strike and then punish
*or a high hk canon strike to the other side into whatever(if i have ultra i sometimes try to get a counter cr hphp)
*after a couple times i mix this up with a air tkcs who lands meaty or tk canon strike into throws
*or hk air canon strike over into tk ex cs cs combo
*If i have an ultra or 2 bars i will also add tk cs into cspike fadc cspike/ultra.
Combo’s i use:
hit confirm
air/tk cs cr lk cr lp cr lk HSA
air/tk cs cr lp cr lp cr lk HSA
On block i thick throw air/tk cs cr lp throw or cspike fadc
when i neutral jump ex cs i usally use s mp cr mp hsa (on block i mixup after the s mp with throw or another tk cs)
focus attack combo’s
tk cs cr hp cr mk hsa or s mp cr mp hsa on big characters with odd hitboxes
when i land an ex canon strike i am now doing s mp cr hp cr mk hsa
I have become pretty good at doing ultra under fireballs
If i play against sagat i use focus a fireball and then check what they are doing=>another fireball is ultra else nothing

Thats the point, my friend! Hooligan used on wakeup like that is SUPPOSED to miss: its supposed to jump over the character to the other side, which, to most players, kinda confuses them. You end up landing right next to your enemy on the opposite side, and this is where the devastation occurs. True, you may have to bait your enemy into learning his tendencies so that you don’t get owned for doing this(DP on recoveryy, throw on recovery etc), but after you figure out how trigger happy he is or isnt, now your mixups from this position are really endless.
The backthrow is lethal, not in the sense that it does any significant damage, but because of the position it lands you in. You end up recovering much faster during a backthrow, and then following over the downed opponent with a hooligan (yes, its supposed to fly over them) puts you in a close, rush down position to drop some serious mixups.
I’m a hardcore 100% rushdown cammy. I’m super aggressive and cannon strike like crazy. It doesn’t work too well against people who play against me regularly because I fall into patterns with my strikes and they catch on. I don’t use cannon spike that much, except when i have meter and can FADC forward for a combo or throw setup. After watching some of the cammy’s here play, i really want to focus on being a lot less predictable and never falling into a pattern. I also need to be a bit less aggressive because i’m constantly getting DP’d out of my mixups and stuff. I need to bait more.
I do a bit of everything with Cammy. Footsies, rushdown, flashy, reactive, but mostly mixups. I am a shenanigan player at heart. I love going for the unblockables, the ambiguous, the dirty, the cheesy way to win. I use a lot of semi-safe hooligans and I delight in the tkcs/throw/cannon spike rock, paper, scissor game.
On wakeup I’m generally doing lk dive kicks where DPs get stuffed or don’t work, or doing some kind of mixup. If my opponent jumps they better be prepared for a cannon spike fadc ultra or a spiral arrow trade ultra. I also know when to turtle, and I spend and gain meter like no other. I also know when to run away and annoy my opponents.
it’s really rare for me to use spin knuckle, maybe if I’m trying to get out of the corner…?
I’ve been told my close range game is really good. I do feel limited when I’m far away though… which I shouldn’t be. I need to use more EX Arrow
My main combos are:

cr hp, cr mk -> spiral arrow
cr hp, st mp -> spiral arrow
st mp, cr hp, cr mk -> spiral arrow
st mp, cr hp, st mp -> spiral arrow
I once read that playing Cammy is like controlling a miniature wrecking ball. And that is exactly how I (try) to play her. I try to wait patiently for an opening and then I open the floodgates.

Focus from the wrong distance. You’d be surprised how many people Shoryuken on wakeup only to land in a fully loaded focus attack. I say ‘wrong distance’ because I love to power up my focus from just out of range. Most people don’t realise I’m not in range and attack with a guardbreaker that whiffs.
I think that is the most important part of my game. That and psychic CS or psychic SBF.
My cammy style is to rush in and attack. Use powerful mix up game to take command of the game. I rarely play on the defensive, but when I do I bait projectile users and use a EX hooligan grab to restart my mix ups. A straight offensive force (: I’d explain more but idk how tew D:
I like to turtle with Cammy on many matchups. Well I wouldn’t say “turtle” as much as being patient. Cammy has a great rushdown game (duh) but I think a lot of Cammy players play into this too much. It’s ok to slow down sometimes and wait for your opponent to give you an opening.
For example, air space belongs to Cammy. So I like to play cautious the first 10-15sec and wait for that impatient jump in from the player. Make them SCARED to do anything but stay on the ground. Because once they psych themselves out and start playing a ground game, that’s when I rush in and start doing all kinds of crap. I feel it’s better to go Slow to Fast paced instead of the other way around.
I tend to try and bait people and punish accordingly. Cannon spike I only use for the likes of flowchart Kens or other players who it won’t matter if I whiff it; otherwise I just ignore the move. When it comes to projectiles I try to counter in as many different ways as possible [l. spin knuckle to try and bait/Focus Absorb a few times and then do either EX Spiral Arrow or EX Hooligan Combination] to keep them guessing. I go a bit crazy with Hooligan Combination, I tend to use it to go over projectiles, go full-screen and then throw if I miss or get a faceful of fist x). I go trigger happy with FA and cancelling it into a backdash, seems to get people to do stupid things.
My combos are pretty much the same as the above poster’s, adding a super where appropriate.
Cannon strike= teh best move ever, If im not doing something else productive im moving towards the other guy with feinted lk cannon strikes. If a jump serves no other purpose it serves to educate my enemy that I WILL cancel my jump into a cannon strike.
Then after proving this a couple of times with cannon strike to blockstring or strike to throw I jump over them and cross em up with a light kick combo.
Then there is backdash, either do it ALL the time or save it as a nice surprise. Changing from hooligan traps to backdash spiral arrow (or ultra 1) after knockdown in round 2 is quite the surprise for most opponents.
ALWAYS have an ex hooligan in stock to punish faffing around on the other side of the screen.
Basically my cammy play style is summarised by erratic movements.

rushdown - my killer bee’s cardinal tool, rushing with cammy comes naturally… my new rushdown trick: focus cancel a cl.HK SA… dash in and lay down some more cover
knockdown hound - knocked down is where cammy wants her enemy… so i give it to her, i treat my girl like english gold… lk spiral arrows work just like english gold in super
throw monster - i throw at every chance i get… bar none, worst case senario they tech it and we end up at a distance where cammy is better
mind f*** rushdown - i keep the rush going and going it flows like i breath… then i stop and kids get ansy and hang themselves… some cats actually make the mistake of jumping…at cammy… fools… but blanka and gen can jump all they want apparently
hooligan setup devil - i have spent entire matches while twirling in the air quipping ‘okay!’ … can’t really explain this but i make it work… except on shotos and blanka so then i just throw more…
bait and punish - so easy with cammy… there’s hardly a single blocked special that cammy can’t punish… and even still kids want to ignore rule number 1 of any fighter ‘never jump’…
jab spacing - i can rule a footsies game from mid range with my cammy… granted is till need to work on my 2-in-1s… i can counter hit with ease as log as they make the first move… s.mk, s.mp, and s.lp work wonders… c.hp and s.hk are geat too
My style includes using Hooligan to close the gap while they wake up, if I can time it right, they don’t have time to jab me out of it and it throws them straight back down for another round of hooligans. Of course, eventually this doesn’t work, because they get wise and crouch on wakeup. At that point I land and grab, hoping to catch again or go straight into CS to knock them down again…
I like to rush my opponents. 1st rounds are usually the funniest because they don’t really know how to react then I switch it up for the 2nd round and play more defence seeing as they’re probably gonna expect me to rush them… unless I know they’re gonna turtle cough boxer cough then I let them come after me
I played a guy on X-Box live the other day. He was using Sakura, Abel and Fei Long while I used Cammy and Dan. After the matches he sent me a message saying he’d never seen Cammy rush people down before. I was like :amazed:
My Cammy is still a work in progress, but I’ve been playing Alpha 3 a lot lately and I wish she had her Killer Bee Assault.
