"Your brainless antics would try the patience of a saint!" - Doctor Strange Combos. BnBs in OP!

Really? Now I’m considering switching back to task or akuma as my second. I just really like how with peekaboo if you drop it and they try to jump in on you or punish you recklessly then they get caught in peekabo. From there I do impact palm into mystic swords and continue however I like and the damage is almost as high as the bnb.

it’s up to you dude. I just have this weird mentality that I need my characters to be able to build ridiculous meter and damage. naturally, I look at all the ToD/former ToD monsters in this game and narrow down my options so that I can build the cheapest Strange team possible with great synergy all around. Strange/Dante/Doom has ridiculous DHC synergy in any order plus provides neutral assists that can really help in neutral and combo extensions.

as for Trish though, I really like Peekaboo assist as with Strange I just want to be able to build meter off any given hit (Dante does the cleanup on my team since he’s better/more consistent at opening people up) so the damage scaling isn’t really an issue, but for whatever reason I just don’t see myself using Trish. she doesn’t kill people fast enough. LOL. it’s silly but whatever, I think I’m sticking with Strange/Dante/Doom until I get sick of the distinct lack of an airdash on Strange.

Just wondering is that combo possible without doom missiles?

yeah but the main point of having an extended Devil Trigger combo after SoV is so Dante can transfer back into normal at the end of the super, which makes Devil Trigger available for DHC again. that’s his best option after SoV and you get a free combo from anywhere as long as you teleport then j.S knockdown. if you don’t have Doom missiles or stuff like Sent drones to get Skydance ground bounce resets, it’s unlikely you’ll be to run the clock completely. Dante’s a pretty flexible character when it comes to these things so just experiment with whatever if you’re gonna use him.

I just realized I haven’t been doing mixups when I snap the enemy in. What was his tele cross up again?
Also gratz to ryan hunter repping some strange for team OS. Doing some really weird shit that made no sense but worked.

just teleport H + projectile assist as the opponent comes in. early = fake crossup, slightly late = crossup into Impact Palm/midscreen Flames.

I really, REALLY wanna see Ryan do well in pools tomorrow. just sucks that he’ll run into Neo or Noel Brown eventually though. I think he can take Neo since Strange-Phoenix is pretty free for the Doc, but Noel… I dunno. tough to say, since one missed TAC counter = level 4 Frank that could totally fuck you up with his godlike normals on top of the derpy Wolvie business we all know.

Man the flames loop is just too much for actual matches. I feel the execution for it isn’t hard but to properly space it and keep that spacing in the middle of the match is damn hard. I mean losing 100 or 200k using the alzarath loop doesn’t bug me too much considering I will drop the flames loop 9/10 in an actual match. I mean don’t get me wrong I’m practicing it in training mode every time but when I play online or with friends I will drop it. It’s like the nova H loop combo or akuma’s most damaging bnb. Cool to know not to do.
IF your getting it in actual matches best of luck to you but I doubt we will ever see it landed perfectly on an actual stream.

Do you guys know, should HSD affect if vishanti xfc H teleport palm into loop etc works consistently? More specifically, as hawkeye I will gimlet (perhaps canceled from arrows) xx dhc vishanti xfc and screw up the combo, and I used to have that down pretty well. Not so hard. So I wanted to check and see if I’m just messing it up and need to re-practice, or if the arrows and gimlet actually make it less practical(or possible).

I wanted to revisit my idea of wesker battery till he dies, hawkeye till he lands a gimlet, dhc to strange and xfc, then clean up the rest with an arrows-backed xf2 strange. But would rather not spend time on it if, you know, it doesn’t work. Lol Should it? Thanks!

if you end up in the corner before launching, you’re good to go. just do st.H ~ Impact Palm xx Flames, Impact Palm, launch. if you land a hit in the corner, the Marvel gods must be smiling upon you and you better finish your damn plate lol. skip Mystic Sword L when doing Alzarath loop and go for the 4 reps if you haven’t already. wait for the opponent to faceplant after the crumple before doing Flames as sometimes they won’t pop up high enough.

Impact Palm/Alzarath doesn’t always bring you to the corner before launching so that’s why I’ve been working on midscreen Flames a little bit more. I’m pretty confident that 4 reps of that can more or less carry you corner to corner. spacing is still weird but we’re playing a weird character anyway so best to just practice and study.

I have corner flames 90% consistent on the 1P side but my execution drops to like 50% on 2P since I haven’t been practicing my combos there. that’s why sometimes if I really need to kill a character I’ll pop XF and switch sides by doing Teleport loop. it sucks but it’s been working so far for me. off snapbacks in the corner I’ll do that too if I get a crossup, but if I get a fake crossup and Weasel Shot assist hits, free conversion into Flames loop. Mystic Sword L, Impact Palm xx Flames, Impact Palm -> finish your plate.

Does anyone know if stranges eye assist will hold down the enemy in place long enough for firebrands unblockable to work? How about vipers focus attack?

Finally: Would you guys recommend vipers burn kick for unblockables (assuming it’s an overhead because if not why use the assist) or her seismic hammer for otg’s and better combos. I’d ask on the team thread but we all know the combo thread is where its at.

Mazi do you think vergil could do as well as dante with strange. After SOV dhc into devil trigger I don’t think Vergil can combo because he doesn’t really dhc on his own but I’m not sure.

You can place an eye of agamotto before of activating SOV if the j.H, j.S corner delay is well timed. The EOA allows some lockdown hypers with slow startup to connect into a DHC after of Vishanti (i do it with Thor Mighty Tornado in the corner), so maybe you can do it with Vergil swords.

Dante’s definitely better since he can get a free combo from pretty much anywhere. corner DHC into Devil Trigger is especially lethal, you can get up to 1m without spending any meter with Dante into a reset if your execution is on point. I forget if Vergil’s teleport tracks at SJ height but even if he could and you did SoV -> DT -> teleport, Helm Breaker, without an OTG assist you won’t get much more than High Time -> Dimension Slash. Dante however can make the most out of his added damage in DT by bypassing HSD entirely with his moves.

SoV -> Dimension Slash (hard knockdown) -> Devil Trigger (Dante) is a pretty sick DHC sequence though lol.

I’m gonna have to try it. I don’t want to hurt your feelings mazi but I’m more of a neo and vergil fan  and I’m pretty sure there has to be some way to combo after SOV.

lol none taken at all man. I’m upping a preview of my team combos/mixups video in a while. look forward to the 1 minute, 7-second overkill combo lol.

Hopefully the vid is more than 1 minute, 7 seconds long because I can’t imagine all the tech possible with your team.

it’s just my B&B shit lol. the overkill combo I just threw in for fun because it’s a 7-bar combo. you can also link an Impact Palm if you omit the last hit of Dante’s Million Dollars super and DHC into 7 Rings, kind of like a pseudo-DHC glitch setup. Crazy Dance, Devil Trigger DHC 7 Rings, OTG 2R also works but I decided not to show it in the vid since the timing for canceling into Crazy Dance annoyed the hell out of me.

oh, and I don’t know how anyone is supposed to block Bolts assist -> Teleport the first time. Dante will crossup, then the pushback of Bolts’ first hit will move the opponent behind Dante. it’s basically a 3-way mixup depending on when you teleport. so basically if they expect you to crossup and hit with j.H, they’ll block high and thus be forced to block the first hit of Bolts which pushes them behind Dante like I said, then they have to block the opposite direction AND guess if I’m gonna go high or low.

Mazio can you really pull off those combos in real fights? my respects if you can O_O . Amazing stuff.

yeah, I would say my execution is pretty good lol. no problem doing the Flames loop but the spacing is finicky. getting the hang of transitioning from midscreen though. this stuff is all muscle memory to me so when performing these combos I don’t really break it down part by part so much. my hands go on auto-pilot, it seems. lol
