I like this one most since the flight helps me with position in the corner for the flame loop. I do B, B, S after flight instead and from there just neutral jump for the loop and get 2 or 3 reps off the flame loop.
in time: here it is. I recorded it yesterday without internet. If I had come here, I’d do it without the mystic swords. But still, what’s important on this video is that the hidden missiles will otg the enemy in a perfect height for another flame loop juggle.

notes:
- I couldnt get it to continue with a S into aerial flame loop, so I finished it right there.
- Like I said in the video, this is applicable in any of his loops, not only the alzarath.
- I could go on on his single alzarath-flame loop with a S~TKneeSoV, but I didnt. Sorry guys, just noticed it now.
Very nice saw the vid and it was great.
This is some great stuff, people. Inspires me to keep using Doc Strange and keep him in almost every single one of my teams, even if he “sucks” ;(
He doesn’t suck
He is actually very good at confusing your opponent
But I will admit, he does have some Cons that are just ridiculous
- EoA disappears on hit (really?)
-M Daggers disappear on hit (REALLY?!) - Can be hit out of teleport
Ok this one gets its own explanation. I am aware that the teleports are safe and quick a majority of the time and I love that. But the reality is this: it is even more difficult to get out of rushdown
-Illusion can’t activate by low attacks ( would of been cool if it did)
More newb help+ another combo
Dr. Strange has two places that make him “suck” less
Lead
WIth the proper assists, Dr. Strange can have time to set up his tools, and actually have an enhanced mix up game, with all of his tools combined. Arrows/beams/gun + M teleport = deadly mix up. You can also cover up punishable mistakes with DHC
Anchor
XF3 Improves his mobility by a lot. You also get to do some funny loops (volleyball, Palm>tekeport>palm, etc)
The only reason why people think he is difficult to use, is because they can’t mash magic series/ brain dead BnBs like they would with almost every other character in the game. Your hit confirms come off of mix up pressure, so you really need to focus, otherwise you will screw up, and even lose your strange. Mix up pressure is key to using strange effectively, remember that! Trust me, you have no idea how many people are going to look free after you get used to the “cake batter” style he has :3
Random combo time
To stay on topic
:f::h:, :d::df::f: :h:, [:u::h::f::H:] x3 —> ender of choice
a very simple way to get into IP loop, but the damage is atrocious because of EoA. This combo is for “I don’t want to screw up the loop”, since you are guaranteed the full combo. Personally, I would end the combo by snapping in any characters that pose a threat to Strange, or you just want to get rid of. You get an advantage with setting up some more stuff. + you don’t want to waste meter on petty damage unless it’s level 3. The I say go for that instead
enjoy
PS: Ok why is online just wesker city, it’s getting a little out of hand
that’s just me. I’m done
first post updated.
good shit, you guys. <3
His daggers shouldn’t disappear on hit. Eye I understand but they are his main projectiles. He needs an air dash that is pretty fast because his wave dash is ass and you can’t always tele even with assist covers. He should be able to move a bit slower than magnus. Then he would be A tier or B+ where a huge mixup and tool oriented character should be.
BTW Mazi are you running dante on anchor? I know dante is pretty good with that speed boost but he doesn’t compare to hawkeye on x-factor
yeah I am running Dante on anchor. Hawkeye’s insane on XF3 with the chip but I feel Dante has better matchups overall vs the other popular anchors, especially if he’s in Devil Trigger. then his mobility combined with ridiculous mixups and the reach of his normals makes him one of the best anchors in the game IMO, if only for Jam Session.
Hawkeye… I dunno. I know he’s probably the best assist for Strange but it just feels weird to play a keepaway character with piss poor raw damage off combos. I never really had a defensive style in FGs, so I guess I’ll just have to get used to it if I wanna keep using that assist + DHC synergy with Strange. or I can run Strange (bolts)/Doom (missiles)/Dante (weasel shot)-- been thinking about that team for a while and it seems very good on paper too.
Really? I guess I see your point. I can’t decide on a second character so I wanted doom for the insane synergy but I’ve already seen like 15 people running strange, doom, hawkeye so I wan’t to do something different. Well best of luck finding your team but while your searching would you mind helping me out?
I’m having trouble connecting j.m after a mystic sword. It only connects 10 percent of the time midscreen and when I do land it in the corner the third loop sometimes whiffs. BTW I’m doing cr:l:st:m:st:h:fd:h:grapes x 2 flames fd:h: mystic sword jump forward air:m::h:fd:h: x 2 and on the third after heavy whiffs. Sometimes I start with cr.:l: st. fd.:h:
it helps to just hold up-forward after Mystic Sword L. if you’re doing the Alzarath loop midscreen and not necessarily looking to set your opponent up for the Flames loop, it’s best to just skip Mystic Sword L and go right into the jump loop for more meter and better corner carry.
Thanks lol. Alzarath loop is probably the best to start with but pretty soon I’ll be hitting up your flames loop vid daily till I get it down.
To keep it from whiffing, you just have to press the buttons as fast as possible. As maziodyne said, hold :uf: after the Mystic Sword and go into the loop. After that just hit the buttons as fast as you can, with no delays between presses. You can actually delay the jumps a little, but not the actual attacks. For me, it’s 99% offline but that goes down to like 30% online because it always seems to drop there for some reason.
hey guys heres a couple of vids
the quality is crappy but you should get the idea.
the vids are unedited …
it shows strange can midscreen flame loop (ROM loops)
i think you do it on all character sizes but you need to change the begining depending on the size.
also me trying to add palm>flames in weird places ( i was suprised)
other stuff in the vids in me trying to learn the combo… i dont even have it 50% yet, the timing is… strange…
i cant tell if im timing it wrong, or is it hit stun or spacing

^I dunno if it’ll help, but I use Mystic Sword L like in my video to space their height correctly before launching. pretty consistent for me anyway, and I get 2 reps into Flame loop midscreen about 90% of the time now.

i was unsure about mystic swords in the combo cuz it adds alot of hitstun and im wondering if i that will affect the combo later on.
what are the the limits of this loop? (within reason)
I estimate about 3-4 reps into 1-2 reps of corner Flames loop. it doesn’t seem to have any glaring weaknesses other than some timing and execution. Mystic Sword L actually helps this combo by putting them at an ideal height before the first rep-- each rep will cause the opponent to drop slightly lower than before.
in other news, I have a pretty sick THC demonstration with the team I’m studying now: Strange/Dante/Dorm. you can get an extra rep of Flames loop or up to 3 Graces (or both, maybe) at the end of the combo while inflicting well over 1.25m damage.

Looking for any TAC for Strange. I use the flame loop to get sick damage before snapping in an Anchor (Wesker, Phoenix, Strider, Hawkeye, etc.) to go for an unblockable setup.
the only known one so far is the one by Ryan Hunter. it’s pretty much the same thing as the Flames loop. check out his first team combo video, it’s there I think.
