my new version is a hell of a lot more efficient. you only have to do 3 reps max if you’re in the corner, and 2 reps if you’re midscreen. does more damage and less reps = less chance of you dropping the soap. tutorial’s still uploading. check my channel in a few.
yea im on xbox my gt is Nucklez
It was 5 in the morning here in Brazil. Pats lost the superbowl. At least be happy for me, man. I never thought I could do a combo like that
LMAO. sorry man. but I got this nice demo/tutorial here if you wanna check it out:

you can do that combo consistently in matches???
yeah, it’s not nearly as impractical as they say. you just need to hit the right buttons and the game takes care of it for you mostly. the only difficult thing about it IMO is the neutral jump Palm. once you get it down to muscle memory though, it’s not so bad. helps to hold up after launcher, then do a Magnetic Blast motion (896). transitioning from midscreen is tricky because you need to be smack dab in the middle of the screen for it to work, lol.
getting it to work on the 2P side is gonna be a bitch, though…
Awesome. Just Awesome. :]
Lol I am mad how everyone is saying how easy this combo is and I have not even hit like half of it once
From what I can study on the videos you all graciously put up is that my spacing is off (too close in my case). It may take a month but I will do this at least once!
lol me too, i can’t do it >_>
I feel you. And I have mission mode done for EVERYONE and I play Strange alot. It’s a deep feeling of anger over here!
I can’t do it either!!! yet. Looks like it’s about 100x easier on stick though due to the way you can roll through motions, fml for being stuck on pad for now.
I’m working on it though because it looks like it’ll bump up the damage off a L Mystic Sword loop significantly. Right now I can get around 500k off a Mystic Sword L, but it looks like the loop adds around 200k to any combo so I think it’s worth learning.
Right now my setup is as follows:
F+C, L Mystic Sword, F+C, S /\ UB + C, Flames, F+C, S
And that’s where I’m at for now, not bad for day 1. Just try to get the small parts done first and build your way up.
Small update
Thor seems like a great test dummy for the combo – hitting it most often versus him.
O.M.G. Nice work guys… with each vid, I feel more and more motivated to get off my butt and get my vids out, but its hard working a FT job w/lots of OT.
Anyway… when I get home, I do try to hit the lab or get some ranked matches in. I’m up late, feel free to hit me up. Right now, I’m playing on XBL over PSN, but can switch. Just leave a kind message and I’ll get it (on Xb first, lol or PM me here to get on PS3)

Oh don’t get me wrong I WILL get this combo.
Definitely not as fast as you guys it seems but I will keep grinding and I will be pimp slapping and reading at a high level before you know it.
I dunno which one you’re using (tortonon’s simpler version or my higher damage one) but the inputs in mine are designed to put you at the right spacing every time. doesn’t matter if it’s midscreen or corner. it has to do with the Impact Palm + Flames before launching that sort of negates the forward motion of Strange’s launcher. notice how Strange stays in the same square on the floor every time after each rep. that’s what I was going for, pretty much; trying to get Strange to stay in that exact spot (third square from the corner in the Training Stage) so I basically eliminate one factor keeping the loop from being consistent. this also means you don’t have to hold :ub: before launching at all.
the other factor is pretty much unavoidable. it’s just execution. the one tough thing about the loop is the instant Impact Palm after neutral SJ. if you notice my hands during the video, I hold up during the launcher, then as soon as the screen starts scrolling, I go through the Magnetic Blast motion which is :u::uf::f: for the instant Impact Palm. then for the Impact Palm xx Flames on the way down, just let the stick go to neutral when you do Palm, then a :hcb: motion for cancelling into Flames. you can omit the falling Impact Palm xx Flames parts, but I purposely added that in because the benefits are twofold: more damage, and more HSD, which normally a bad thing-- however, less reps means you are less likely to drop the loop, and you still get a ton of damage and a ridiculous amount of meter building.
TRAINING MODE SCIENCE!
hope this helps.
Mazio you are the man. That description should get me going I will study the loop in the video and with your tips I gotta imagine I will be busting loops soon.
My problem was I had a lot of success with zoning and focusing on filthy assist punishes with Strange I never bothered to mess with his more involved combos. This on however is just flat out too amazing for me to ignore. Shot outs to you guys for working this tech out I frankly don’t know how the hell people think up these things!
Guys, calm down, no reason to panic.
The flame loop is not hard: its ODD.
If you guys have done missions and all that like you said, you are more than capable of pulling it off. Hell, I did all 10 for 5 chars outta the whole 50.
Anyways, here are a few tips for you guys to get started:
-
First of all, and most important, work on the inputs. Unlike most combos, the Flame Loop relies much more on the correct inputs than on speed and all. After you get the hang of its ‘specific’ stuff (canceling stuff in different directions, like sjumpback-Palm-Faltine-Palm) it becomes much much easier.
-
Then, it’s important to pay attention to the opponent’s height. You want him/her to be always getting hit by the upper portion of the palm. If they are above enough, chaining the juggles between palms and flames becomes easier.
-
Try to always superjump backwards and cancel this sjump with an impact palm near the regular jump height. This will give you the proper spacing while still keeping the opponent above enough for the loop. It’s not an obrigatory height, it only works well and helps quite a bit.
To start learning the regular loop, you can start to get familiar with the inputs and requirements through this basic flame loop variation that I posted in my channel. I will post the enhanced one by the weekend, but it wont get away or any farther than Mazio’s vid, so there you have it. Here is the starting point:

Progress report-
Thanks to your advice boys I am hitting the first part of mazios hard loop about 60 percent of the time. When I get that higher I will add in the relaunch part. Point is no panic now lol progress is being made and fools are gettin backhanded.
P.S. Have you “training lab” guys toyed with Viewtiful Joes bomb assist? It has applications of being a hell of a tool for a creative strange player. For example I was messing around using it with his counter to get an invincible shoto like beam that I can control the activation of. I see a lot of potential for it…
just did quite a bit of testing; I think you guys will be happy to know that the Flames loop does indeed work midscreen as a relaunch combo. I’ll upload a really quick video in a while just to show you what I mean. 2 reps from midscreen is all you need to transition into the corner Flames loop, but I think this also does a great deal of wall carry. corner to corner into corner Flames may be possible. don’t have the time right now to test extensively though.

I have been practicing the palm-flame loop with my team (Thor/Strange/Ammy). It’s indeed amazing and add some nice extra damage to any combo Strange does. I won’t depend 100% on the loop, will use it only for combo extensions after of:
cr.L, s.M, Impact Palm, Grace of hoggoth M x2, Flame, (j.M, j.M, j.H, Impact Palm)x4, s.H (call Thor mighty smash), Impact Palm, Grace of hoggoth M (this will make the timing easier, but works only in the corner), and from here, (s.Impact Palm, s.S, back superjump, Impact palm, Flame, Impact Palm, land) x3 , j.S. +700k damage without Vishanti is a very nice number for a combo, and it gets ridiculous with the Thor TAC into double Mighty spark (+900k without hyper)
when getting in with Mystic Sword + Mighty smash midscreen: (j.M, j.M, j.H, Impact Palm)x2, (impact palm, s.S, super jump, impact palm, flame, impact palm, land)x3, j.S
and it’s a +600k even if i start with Ammy Cold Star 8 hits. Very worth, good work guys, i’m proud to be a Strange player
