Best Moment: Being beat down to only a sliver of life, and somehow managing to make a come-back to win the match using one of Gouken’s earth-splitting Shin Shoryuken combos.
Worst Moment: Fighting an insane rush-down Balrog who knew the Gouken match-up really well. Pushed me into the corner, stuffed everything I threw at him to retaliate, beat me into dizzy, taunted, and finished me off with a throw. BOTH rounds. Never have I felt this useless as a Gouken player.
Funniest Moment: When I was using Gouken and fighting my friend who was Ryu. I jumped backwards, and he decided to throw out an Ultra hoping to catch me as I came down. Right when his Ultra cinematic finished, I did a last-minute air tatsu input, and Gouken managed to stay up in the air just long enough to dodge that Ultra and land safely. The expression on my friend’s face was priceless.
Best: I thought this ryu was shooting a hadouken, so I try to ultra through it (as abel) but he wasn’t! then he does his ultra after mine, but he was to close, and he gets hit at “Metsu, ha-”
Worst: playing against a fail ken, roll under his hp shoryuken, and attempt to tt, but do the friggin falling sky instead! and he ultras me!
My best moment came today. Months ago, when I first got into the game, my buddy beat me with his Sagat. He decided it would be funny to rub it in my face for the next several months.
Well I have been playing and practicing all this time and today we played a best of 3 games and I won! It was the first time that I felt a real sense of accomplishment playing this game. I definitely got a little rowdy because it felt so good getting my redemption after months of insults.
Its days like today that remind me why I love this game.
Best moment: Anytime I am able to apply something I practiced a lot in training mode in an actual match. Hard work pays off kids.
Most disappointing: Breaking top 16 in Capcom UK finals, then getting mega-careless in my last set against British Justice and losing out 2-1. In hindsight, not so bad… he’s a quality player, and probably the UK’s best Ryu.
Best/Funniest:
Beating some moron Ryu thinking he was Daigo, started taunting every time after he would actually knock me backwards. In the end I hit him with a Super (was also playing Ryu) in mid air and I noticed I still had my ultra meter so I threw that out after the super and it killed him LOL. I think it just felt good to destroy him that bad, especially since using the ultra after the super is essentially a waste unless you know it will kill him, I didn’t think it would.
Worst:
Been playing a lot of the PC version but it would have to be when my friend I/M’d me in the middle of a finals match. FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF it was so close too and it came out of nowhere and the dude took full advantage and killed me as I stood there.
I also hate people that attack you when something like that happens, I mean it’s fucking obvious something is wrong if the person isn’t moving. Control/usb plug in could have fell out of the port on accident, or got an I/M like I mentioned like that. Those people are scumbags, I try to fully avoid mongoloids like that. I’m not saying it happens often because that was the first time. But I have had someone attack me when my control fell out, it pissed me off so bad.
you can’t really blame them. for all they know you’re RQ’ing. shoulda messaged him what happened and asked for a rematch or something. if he said “no f-off scrub” then you can consider him an asshole.
Anyway my best moment for the time being is either clutch catching people with an ultra, or one time specifically using FA into Ultra vs a Blanka’s jump-in twice in one match resulting in my win. I love landing 2 ultras in one round. I guess another time that contends with that is using both my ultra and super through a Sagat’s fireballs in one match for the win, since the timing is pretty strict.
Funniest/luckiest moment has to be hitting a Gen player out of his mantis ultra with a focus attack. Beat it clean, and he went flying from the direction he came from. I won the match because of that, but if he landed the ultra, I would’ve been dead.
last night, i pulled out sakura against Akuma. ft3 wins. Last round both low health, both with ultra and i had super meter. He did the diving palm in your face thing for some wake up shenanigans. I did a wake up super, he blocked and said “Game over man Game over” in the Aliens voice… He then pulled out his slow ass sweep and I ultra’d it. HAAHAHAHHAHAAHHAHAHAAA
Worst - Losing 6 straight games in semi’s (best out of 3) at the local gamespot tourney and getting 3rd
Funny - Was at my first house session and was playing this ryu we were both about to die and he did his ultra to chip me to death i tried to do my ultra but got the coward crouch instead the ultra went over me and i won the match the ryu player asked if i did it on purpose i said yea and he called me a douche
Best- Winning my first tourney with the crowd behind me pulling for me and as soon as i won i turned around the crowd erupted with cheers it felt awesome aww i got those special goose bumps just from talking about it
But it was during the first round and there was no sort of sign that he was ahead or I was so it’s ridiculous. Yes I did ask for a rematch and he said “LOL too bad, too busy advancing, thanks for the free win.” I wouldn’t have gotten pissed if I had destroyed him in a rematch lol.
fighting one of those “C’mon” Blanka’s and at he took first round. Then second round he was fucking me up, and when I had next to no health left, I landed 2 big combos and proceeded to play the footsies of my life. I ended up winning the game.
My worst moment would be kicking ass first round, then second round was right to the wire, then third I was taunting at the end and my battery pack fell out of my pad and I lost
Best: Finally understanding Chun’s game and using her effectively.
Worst: Wanting Oct 27 to get here faster because scrub ass Blanka was my only character to win with. (Oh yeah!) The feeling I get when playing a flowchart ken after a tactical bout with a solid player.
I’ve just started playing championship mode having only played it like once or twice before so I haven’t had too many highlights.
I just really like beating taunting opponents. It’s happened a couple of times where they’ve caught me cold and I’ve managed to bring one or two hits to set up that needed ultra.
Best: I was playing on my friend’s 360 the other night and played a ranked match. He did that thing where whatever character you hover over, he moves to also. So I decided I’d use my Ken, thinking, “Ok, mirror match, that’s cool. It’s nice to see how others play Ken too!”
As soon as I pick, he promptly moves over to Sagat -_-
So I lick my chops and decide to dash his dreams. I had no idea how good this guy would be, but I just knew he was thinking it would be an easy win. Needless to say I beat him. It went to the third round but that was all I needed to ge this pattern down and Ultra Combo FTW.
Worst: I played a ranked match against a guy on PSN under my username… dude freakin’ rocked me. Like, I didn’t even get him down past half health in either match. Afterward he added me as a friend though so it’s all good Still need to get in some more matches with him.
Best Moment: Killing taunters. Winning my first G1 against a 30,000 GP Geif. EX Hadouken > Ultra Akuma/Gouki while he was jumping back.
Worst Moment: Taunting a Guile player (Not a usual taunt, but Guild players these days crouching short, short, short all day I was mocking his play style by doing what he was doing) and getting Ultra’d.
Still need to get in some more matches with him.
