"You wanna get choked?!" Movelist/Combo Thread (Updated: AE changes)

put the dummy on random block & practice hit confirming the meaty at the same time

its very possible thats its already discovered but for thouse who dont know.
cr.hp — dash x2 — cr.lp OS cr.hp beats backdash on some of the casts.
Tested it on (didnt test all of the cast) but works on so far:
Ryu
Ken
Akuma
Honda
Gouken
Sakura
Oni
Juri
Abel
Dictator
Sagat
Cammy

Okay, tested the c.LP OS sweep on entire cast. To complete peqqi’s list:

Works on:
Ryu
Ken
Honda
Gouken
Akuma
Sakura
Oni
Yun
Juri
Abel
Bison/Dictator
Sagat
Cammy
Cody
Hakan
Yang
Guile
Blanka
Zangief
Rufus
Fuerte
Vega/Claw
T. Hawk
Adon

By extension, the OS does not work on:
Ibuki
Makoto
Dudley
Seth
Gen
Dan
Chun
Dhalsim
C. Viper
Deejay
Guy
E. Ryu
Balrog/Boxer
Fei
Rose

take this over to the AE thread

Also, been seeing vryu doing this: sweep, f.dash x2, c.LP OS f.MK. What’s good about this is that *most *of the characters that are out of range in the OS sweep setup is hit by the f.MK set up. Though you can’t work on oki like the OS sweep setup, you can hit confirm f.MK~HK for damage/stun of 190/300 that you wouldn’t have gotten in the first place. And you push them slightly closer to the corner.

I’ll try to organize this the best I can. Let’s use this legend:
OS sweep = cr.hp — dash x2 — cr.lp OS cr.HP
OS f.MK= cr.hp — dash x2 — cr.lp OS f.MK

Characters that get hit only by OS sweep

Spoiler

Gouken
Akuma
Abel
Bison/Dictator
Fuerte
Vega/Claw
Adon

Characters that get hit only by OS f.MK

Spoiler

Ibuki
Makoto
Gen
Dan
Dhalsim
C. Viper
Deejay
Guy
Evil Ryu
Fei

Characters that get hit by both OS sweep and OS f.MK

Spoiler

Ryu
Ken
Honda
Sakura
Oni
Yun
Juri
Sagat
Cody
Hakan
Yang
Guile
Blanka
Zangief
Rufus
T. Hawk

notes: Use OS sweep to work on oki. Use OS f.MK for okay damage/good stun, to push opponent closer to corner, and to work on mix-ups (like, instead of hit f.MK~HK, do f.MK into EX kara on mashers/blockers). Mix-ups are inherently risky; still needs experimenting to see if useful during actual matches.

Characters that get hit by neither OS sweep nor OS f.MK

Spoiler

Dudley
Seth
Chun
Balrog/Boxer
Rose

Notes:
For Dudley, Seth, and Boxer, I’d use OS f.MK. When f.MK comes out, it won’t whiff (they’ll have to block it). So you’ll be in range to continue pressure. Chun Li and Rose-- with their godlike backdashes-- are completely out of range; the f.MK whiffs. So they can backdash again to safety. Back to square 1.

There has to be an ultra2 option select that could be useful here.

Hope this helps! If you see any errors, please correct it. Also, can someone test out possible OS’s for people that can teleport on wakeup. I tried this on Vega/Claw: sweep, dash x2, c.LP OS f.HP. If Vega just stands there or blocks, c.LP, s.LP, etc comes out. If Vega backflips, f.HP comes out for a hard punish. Problem is the timing, f.HP sometimes comes out too early. Needs more testing…

wouldn’t os ex hayate be better where the os sweep doesn’t work?

Should I buffer dash in every s.mp s.mp that I do? And should I always do c.lp, s.lp (OS f.hp), s.mp instead of the normal bnb without OS?

Here’s a complete list of “clp clp stlp chp/u1” that was discussed in the AE guide. It took me awhile to get the timing down so sorry for the wait. I’m sure the list is subject to change, if anyone wants to take a crack at who i didn’t get the setup to work on. Hope you guys find it useful.

this doesnt work everytime.
It works since SUPER, so i tried HP-hayate -> FADC -> crLP*2 -> stLP -> u1 when AE came out, and it didnt work :frowning: (tried vs dudley)

It works on dudley without the hp hayate, fadc at the beginning.

yes i know. That’s why i ask which setup you tested

  • dash -> crLP ->… ?
  • no dash -> crLP -> etc?
  • HP hayate FADC ?
  • Oroshi FADC?

No dash -> crLP -> etc. Whenever i used dash ->crLP it pushed me too far away. That might also explain why my setup didnt work on balrog but your HP Hayate -> FADC -> etc worked. I’ll go back and try those setups again and update the list.

this must’ve been a real pain to test on each character… much thanks kioshi!

This isn’t related to this setup, the standing unblockable setup on feilong, (testing it on the rest of the cast) is there a trick to doing the mk tsurugi or will the opponent be able to walk out of the setup, like walk forward instead of falling for trying to block and still get hit. Whenever i attempt the setup, they can just walk forward, but i still get the unblockable sometimes.

Hmmm not sure if this is known but due to the new range of c.:lk:, Makoto can now do FFS c.:lk: EX Hayate (4 hit combo). It wouldn’t be that big of a deal, but now we have another 2f frame trap on block that HITS LOW (in case we miss the s.:mp:, which i do pretty often lol)… I think this is good news…

I wonder if the range on that is character specific? TO THE LAB

It is. Doesn’t work on Seth. Didn’t test any other characters.

yay more character specific combos, it never ends >:(.

the problem is that Makoto’s dash pushes her out of the opponent, i thought Capcom would have fixed this, as it was a known issue in SUPER

Hi, I couldn’t find this pointed out through skimming the thread, but Ex hayate > lp.DP does work on Hakan, so the chart is wrong for him at least. It’s pretty strict timing, I’ve only been able to pull it off reliably through mashing the DP shortcut.
