this reminds me, has anyone ever tried some counter hit st.fp set ups? a st.fp>HC leaves you with a little frame advantage on block so it isn’t such a bad idea to throw that out sometimes.
I really want to land counter hit s.fp>HC>S.FP>HC>s.mp> ex oroshi or Ex hayate > F+lk mix up in corner. that combo just looks sick and it does a lot of stun damage.
It’s ex karakusa armor cancel ultra, though he figured some type of shortcut it seems cause I can’t for the life of me reproduce it with the inputs displayed in the match. You can find examples of the technique on youtube under armor cancel ultra.
I read most of the recent posts and I didn’t see this posted… but, concerning the fukiage launching after FA level 2/3, i found that there’s no reason to dash. you just do => FA, (don’t dash), (i like EX) fukiage =>follow up. Just an easier method I noticed.
Concerning the Armor Cancel U1, i can still only reliably make it come out using Vryu’s method. I’ve been watching A LOT of BIGDAMUL and he uses it pretty much anytime he’s waking up and the opponent is just out of U1 range trying to poke him to death. Every single time i see it i have to scream “GAWCHA BITCH!” LOL. To me it looks like hes doing the motion like Vryu explained it as well (2362364 KK~PPP). But maybe my eyes are deceiving me. One thing I hate about AC ultra is that I cannot get it to work reliably on jumpins. ESPECIALLY Dudly’s j hk. But working on anything in general (is anything guaranteed for Makoto?) would be nice lol.
I’m still having trouble doing kara karakusa, if standing at point blank range how can you do it so fast that the F+lk doesn’t actually connect? every time I try to do it the F+lk always hits and right now I just can’t imagine getting the F+lk not to connect at this point because it seems to hit the second after I press the Lk button. Does this mean I’m too slow?
So I guess my question is, after doing the F+lk how fast do you have to get to the back +HK? also do you hold F+lk until you press HK? for some reason it seems more successful when I hold the lk button and then I press HK and release Lk once I get to the back + HK part to complete the motion.
I stopped trying to do this for awhile and I just attempted it again in training mode, I’ll be so happy once I can actually do it at will.
You could be too slow, or youre prolly doing it too fast, i was at first. I just piano the lk and the mk/hk. Remember you can shortcut the hcb motion also. You gotta press the mk/hk like 1/2 way through the lk, right after she does that little hop foward but right before the kick. i can make a video showing my hands doing it on the stick and/or controller if u need.
i looked at Bigs inputs & he’s doing full half circles forward…as people have explained the engine only requires certain inputs to be registered in the buffer (in any order) for a special to work, i imagine the Karakusa has to end on a back though
& why would you do this on jumpins?? i imagine that if they hit you during the EX Karakusa they are already too low to be hit by U1. plain U1 has to be done bout at the time they start descending from the peak of their jump, any later & they can block it. does the armor give you more time??
I use a TE stick, so if you could make a vid showing your hands on the TE stick that might help me out a lot. I know there’s one on youtube but you can only get a side view so I didn’t get too much from it.
Okay, I didn’t know it was possible to do it too fast, the motion I use is F+lk, down forward, back+HK I don’t know how to piano, can you explain it briefly? I only found a few vids on youtube and didn’t really understand what to do from watching.
I’ll give it a try later on and try to time it like you suggested, it gets really frustrating practicing it because if I stand right next to them by F+lk always hits them and if I back up and try it it looks like I’m gettting it until I get next to them and can’t do it Lol. should I just stand next to them and keep trying?
I thought maybe, due to the hit stop that it would give you more time. I’ve done it once or twice, but never reliably. I believe that AC ultra is absolutely useless lol. But it would be nice to show off in casuals when people get attack happy on makoto’s suckass wakeup options. What am I gonna do to geifs meaty splash or duds meaty elbow!!! Anyone??? lol. Besides blocking and risking my life for one fucking jump in, attempting to guess right is the only option I have. It would be nice to AC Ultra certain meaty jump ins that I am otherwise defenseless against. Look, anytime I see something that may possibly help my defense out, I jump on it and see what I can squeeze out of it… Would be nice if fukiage was invulnerable on wakeup
I appear to be constantly screwing up Karakusa > s.HP XX hp.Hayate. And I have no idea how it keeps happening but I keep landing my s.HP and getting the Hayate blocked. I’ve been DPed right out of the Hayate a couple of times. My first instinct was that I was accidentally charging the hayate so I started negative edging the input (holding down the HP and releasing it for the hayate) which actually made the combo easier to perform but I’m still having trouble. I wasn’t going to post at all till I got Metsu-Shoryuken’d out of it. Any ideas why this is happening?
I would say it’s a timing issue, I had the same problem for a while myself. once she starts the st.hp quickly do qcf Hp. I couldn’t figure out why mine was missing sometimes too, but you really do have to be quick after you hit that hp. try it out in training mode and get the rhythm down, that’s what helped me.
you should already know this, but EX Oroshi does work sometimes, never hurts to throw it out at least once per match…back dash, forward dash, these work great if you know for sure they’re gonna jump. they can OS you, but needless to say, you should never be using something so much that they anticipate it
You’re definitely charging the HP Hayate. If you neg edge the S.HP xx HP Hayate it should always work. If you hold down HP for even a few frames after doing QCF+HP it won’t combo.
Seems like it was just a matter of speed. I just wasn’t doing it quickly enough. I spent a bunch of time practicing in training mode and gained about 1000 BP straight after. Although it is Sunday morning which is easy pickin’s. Thanks for the help anyway, feeling better about Makoto than I was.
