You think you're hungry for serious Bushido Blade? You're not!

This thread is purely dedicated to a game that should have been a competitive fighter for a long time now but for some reason was over looked. Not only is Bushido Blade the most realistic sword fighting game to ever exist, but it is a much deeper fighter than any of you who played it over 10 years ago remember.

Not only will this thread be to give info, techniques and Bushido Blade philosophies but this thread can be used to organize sessions and tournaments for the game.

Here’s a video to help get you started.

isnt this the one hit kill game?
fucking exellent lol.

Mikado with Naginata all fucking day. This game is very conducive to death->shot drinking stipulations too, try that shit its mad intense wont be sorry. In fact I have it on good authority from square this is how the game was tested/meant to be played.

i just throw sand, and feint surrender hahaha i fight dirty

What console do you guys play this on? Psx hooked up to a crt or what? PS3 emulations seems to lag.

I think we should have a single elimination hardcore bushido blade bracket immediately after TWars…

Hahaha I’m so down.

Heck, I’ll even record it.

I remember Utsusemi’s stomach is invincible. It even shows it in that video linked in the first post.

I remember my mom hated when we played this game because of how realistically people fell when they died (to their knees and then down) hah.

Yes Jodo that tournament should most definitely happen!

I normally play using my original ps1 disc on the PS3. The PSX version is super rare and is a mix of the characters from 2 with the far superior engine of 1.

The game get’s insane when you learn how to consistently parry and counter attack with special moves after parry. Pouncing also is an awesome skill because it’s basically a jump in attack that let’s you easily get in. Also, hold L1 to run, then press R2 and R1+,x it’s a dope ass sword shoryuken move but it’s pretty punishable.

I was thinking that since this game can move pretty fast matches should be first to 5 and all played on a neutral stage like executioners cover (the beach) or mekyokan (dojo)

M-M,M,M - ? [Kanuki]

Hammer Frenzy…with…a giant Hammer.

It’s all about the quick step katana slice to the head right at the beginning of the round. Also, the level with the Bamboo trees.

The problem with the bamboo thicket level is the ledge. Then we would have to deal with ledge guarding and all that =\ maybe if both players agree.

Could go upper level (the thicket) and call lower level a ring out…but that’ kind of gross

Ledge guarding? WTF is that?

Get higher ground. Low stance. :o

And f that video, we need to make one. It would be far better than that.

Edit Gojira: Nothing. But if we’re talking ‘serious’ bushido blade, then it’s basically a stalemate once someone goes up a ledge since climbing up it will net you a dead self.

I still don’t understand. What does that accomplish?

You mean turtling on the ledge and waiting for someone to climb up? Climbing is for noobs in BB. Real players just jump up.

Essentially there is no way the other person can get up to you without being sliced in the face.

You can get hit even while jumping even if you do a jumping attack. Either way upper ground means the advantage. I’m not sure how much of a problem it’s going to be though, but I do feel the best idea would be to have non ledge stages be neutral and have the others be used if both players agree. I do love bamboo thicket sooo so much.
