Predator Arts is not as affected by Advance guard, so that’s cool.
Well think I finally have my BP combo. After messing with all the shit people have come up with involving the 214HP,Wall Cling, Predator Art Loops, IA Predator Arts…
I wanted to main BP no matter what the circumstances… But I surely didn’t expect him to have low health, no armour (Wtf CapCucks?) This dude ‘wears’ VIBRANIUM!, or NOT a single dagger or spear to chuck across the damn screen.
I’m not saying he suck’s, but he goes against what ‘I’ want to do in this meta.
I surely hope one of you figure him out & get good results.
I don’t know what capcom were thinking. Low health? He has superhuman durability and the suit he wears is one of the most durable costumes in the marvel universe, absorbing and redirecting all forms of energy. He should have had the daggers and gadgets in a game like this. Earth’s mightiest heroes and writers such as Priest, hickman, ewing and coates have wrote panther using energy daggers and stan Lee wrote him as tech/prep god in his fist ever appearance in the fantastic four. I don’t even recognise the character in infinite. In a game with emphasis on fanservice they have failed with tchalla.

I hope capcom revamps the character but if not and someone is able to master him, it will be beautiful to watch even though other players can do more for less
Marvel is focusing on the MCU Black Panther, who hasn’t even shown a glimpse of his technological weaponry. It’s a shame but pretty much what people know of Black Panther is his martial arts and… claws.
I agree with you. We already saw him using some crazy stuff in his trailer alone. It’s just a shame that none of it was incorporated into the game only because people would be like, “Since when could he do this? WTF” and by people, I mean people who don’t know of Black Panther outside of the movies.
He has low health for the same reason Gamora and Zero have low health. I’m sure you could come up with some lore based reason why those characters should have higher health, but in the context of the gameplay it makes sense. Besides it’s Marvel. You haven’t played Marvel competitively enough if you’re worried about the health of your character.
BP has an invincible level 1 which is better than armor any ways. He’s a rushdown character that can blow through your mash attempts with an invincible move. Which means if he goes for it you either get hit or he safely tags into more free rushdown. That would make Wolverine beyond top tier (technically in Vanilla Wolvie had an invincible special). You will have to respect BP just on that alone especially in a game where only so much of the cast has invincible moves/supers. Most of the current touted top tier characters have no invincibility other than level 3 (and definitely no armor).
His invincible super his his level 1 with qcf+PP. The scratch combo with a launch at the end - that one has start-up invul similar to bionic arm or Gamora’s sword super + it leads to a full combo on hit / tag-mixups on block.
He’s by no means bad. You’re crying about how different he is from the lore, but why not just play the game and explore and take him to the top? Like this
But isn’t that what MVCI is partly for? It is to showcase and hype Marvel Studios characters, present & future.
Uninformed Ppl who play MVCI should be like “Oh! I didn’t know BP could do that!” MVCI should be educating ppl, not promoting halfbaked representations of the characters, even when compared to MCU BP.
It’s mind-boggling to see Sigma with armor attacks & a deflect special, and Monster Hunter with super armor attacks, but BP is totally void of them.
Non-fans are unbothered by BP in MVCI, he’s a Rekka/Rushdown function with some hope of good tech, and that’s all they see. But as a fan who waited for this moment for 15+ years, it’s difficult to detach and enjoy the character for what he is in the game. He got that ‘meh’ vibe where it is BP, but at the same time it’s a C-level effort.
Anyone who wants to defend Capcom for this half-assed character “functionality” can go ahead and have a blast with him!
We all know Capcom is incompetent, and I also believe they’re racist! (Street Fighter 2 opening credits)
A couple minutes in the lab with MH & Sigma and you realize they were designed with love, care, and attention to detail! It’s clear BP was not.
Everyone plays characters for different reasons DevilJin… I’m not ‘worried’ about anything. I just have preferences on how I choose to approach fighting games.
I realize he has low health because he’s fast w/ good mixup potential, but PLEASE don’t act like low health isn’t a liability, it’s ALWAYS a liability. There’s just ways to work around it.
Thanks for clearing up what super is invincible Raynex, I ‘clearly’ haven’t labbed enough yet. But nobody over here is “crying” bruh, never that. I’m stating that Capcom is being Capcom & even though I was very excited to main this character, I will not settle for less. I’m tired of my people getting treated this way in real life AND media!
I’ve not once said he’s bad, too early to know for sure. But he should be MORE than what he is and we have MH & Sigma as prime examples.
And don’t think I’m just saying all this from a place of ignorance. I’ve been had insider info on this game. I’ve worked in the industry MYSELF.
DevilJin, I’m the one who originally informed you about this game almost a year before it’s original announcement.
To Capcom and probably some of you as well, I should probably just shut up and be happy I got a Black character PERIOD! Huh?
Who ever that character in the game is, it isn’t black panther. As a huge BP fan I feel that If they weren’t gonna do right by the character, I’d rather he wasn’t in the game
Been trying to use partners that give BP a combo off of tag in overhead to full combo for free. X’s scythe move works, I’m still exploring other options
I only saw him in Civil War where they pretty much portrayed him as a scratch and claw function which is what he does in the game. It’s only through finally looking at some comic scenes and seeing the BP movie trailer that it’s apparent that he’s African Batman.
You don’t have to lab up which super is invincible. One minute on training mode and you can figure which ones are invincible. It’d be nice if the game had a guide, but I guess they didn’t wanna spend the time.
If low health was a real liability then no one would play a majority of the top tiers in Marvel games. Nobody tourney competitive goes “I’m gonna play Spencer or Wesker instead of Zero or Phoenix because they have more health”. You just play Zero or Phoenix because they are just better characters and follow the typical mantra of get cheap shit to win tourneys at the cost of health.
