Recently I have discovered little bits here and there, some by myself and others from hunting down info only to find quite important features, which I feel should be made more clear in the instructions. I’m testing out some and they seem to work in games prior to release. Alot if not all probaly know the thigs I’m about to write, but this thread is for sharing and hopefully learning. So if you know them all great, and if you know of more please bring u all in on it.
1: I thought I was the first to discover this or at least to make it known, luckily I checked andit was old news.
Easy dragon punches can be peformed by tapping forward then tapping diagonaly down.
Fireballs can also be performed by tapping diagonaly down then forward.
Dragon punches can also be excecuted whilst crouching by sliding forward back forward, all whilst pulling down so really it’s diagonal forward, down, diagonal back, down etc etc.
2:Now this one really surprised me. Special moves can be executed after the attack button has been pressed aslong as the button has not been disengaged, so you can punch, and keep the button held, once you perform the dragon punch or whatever special move you want with the joystick, you then let go of the attack button at the moment you would normally be engagig, so with one execution both the engage and disengage will count as an input. [I learnt this from looking for instructions for SSF2 HD remix on ps3
3: this is just minor trivia but just to get the ball rolling. In japan balrog is named M. Bison as a tribute to Mike Tyson, and M.bison is named Vega and Vega is named Balrog. Obviously that would run into legal issues in the Western world so the name swere re-arranged.
4: Please add to this List : Other lesser known Vs Fighting Games
Dark Stalkers
Guilty Gear
BlazBlue
X-men Mutant Academy
Super Gem Fighter
Samurai Showdown
Tatsunoko Vs Capcom [Wii exclusive]
Armoured Core
Soul Calibur [The only 3d game to really work in a true 3d enviroment - amazing]
SkullGirls
5: The engine code behind most of the street fighter is called MUGEN, just like the pirated modded code of SF champion edition back in the day where the code was modified so all kinds of crzay things could happen, this lead to capcom to release Super Street Fighter turbo, this adopte dthe bird kicks in the air and allowed the speed to increase, later we would also be able to perform fireballs in the air, and with Marvel Vs capcom they took crazyness to another level. I always did think blanka bighting and ryu dragon punching out of him a bit weird, and some people actually beleived these were real street fighters. Anyway there is a big scene amongst PC gamers who use the MUGEN code to mak ethere own versions, and we are not talking about silly mods like continuous fireballs or changing character mid game. These people create not only powered up chracters such as God Ken, Angel Ryu, they bring every charcter to the table, check it out on you tube right now, theres even ronald McDOnald fightinmg various charcters such as Sonic the Hedgehog.
That’s all I can think of at the moment, I hope you all can add you interesting and useful info that isn’t as well known as it should be, and please don’t think everyone knows it already and not worth posting, cause you never know. I’m sure you all have alot more than what I have posted. Aftera few posts I will re edit and compile into catergories or something, so it’s easy to look at one go rather than redding the whole thread.********
